Make no mistake: this lovely passive solar 'cottage' is aggressively sustainable. It's also very much a family home, and we are so thankful to the Clere family, who recently opened their home for the Western North Carolina Green Building Council's monthly Green Home Tour. This unique home will stay warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer, using many low-tech design methods. This Crescent Chalet model is 912 sq ft per level, for a total of 1,824 sq ft, excluding the screened in porch.
