We wanted to put a post out there to let everyone know that,
Wilson's Rubbish Hauling, Inc. is no longer in service. As of August 1st, 2024. After 40+ years of serving the Cedar Rapids and surrounding areas, the owners decided it was time to retire and enjoy life's next adventures. We want to thank all of you personally for all of the years of service we were able to provide you, and the long-lasting relationships made along the way.

The Solid Waste Agency landfill & recycling location, 1954 County Home Road, Marion, will close at 10:00am, Tuesday, April 16, 2024, due to the extreme wind and wind direction.

We apologize for the inconvenience. High winds and inclement weather can make it very difficult to control and prevent litter when garbage is emptied out of vehicles for disposal. The Solid Waste Agency, through solid waste permitting from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, is required to control litter at all times. Closure allows landfill staff to dedicate their work hours to picking up blown litter from the landfill and surrounding properties. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Weather permitting, the landfill will open Wednesday, April 17th at 7:00am.

Again, please understand that this puts us behind. We will get everyone cleaned up. If you have any questions on this please contact the landfill!!! We can not control them from closing.

Good morning!

I wanted to let everyone know that the Landfill is closed due to forecasted high winds. We are still out picking up as much as we are able to. Please be patient with us, when the landfill closes it puts a day behind.

Due to the forecasted weather, the landfill is closed tomorrow and possibly Saturday.

Please be patient with us as we are doing our best to get everyone cleaned up in a timely matter.

Please make sure all snow is removed from in front of dumpsters and dumpster bays to be able to get you picked up on your service days. Thank you - Wilson’s

Wilson’s Rubbish Hauling will NOT be picking up Trash or Cardboard/Recycling on Thursday 12/21 - Friday 12/22 - Saturday 12/23 Due to the landfill being closed all three days for the weather we are going to be getting! We will be resuming service on Monday 12/26.

Please be patient with us as we work hard to get everyone cleaned up. Having these days off and the holiday puts us way behind for pick ups of any kind. We appreciate your business and for working with us!
