Picked this one up mid-job. Homeowner had a company that subbed it out and it sat — front of the house in wrap, waiting.

Got the wrap sealed up right and ran the siding myself. Same guy who answered the phone, same guy on the ladder.

That’s the whole business!

Before and after home addition in Cedar Rapids.

This old porch was past saving — rotted fascia, sagging structure, pulling away from the house. Underneath it: a cellar stairwell from the early 1900s. Tearing it off and starting over was the only real option.

New porch built on engineered pier footings to span that original cellar, with a self-supporting gable roof tied into the existing roofline. The stairway was incorporated into the build for basement access.

New framing, windows, roof, and siding, all matched in.

Same footprint. Completely different building.

Before and after says it all.

Rotting wood balusters, peeling paint, structure that had seen better days. Replaced it with composite decking and aluminum balusters — clean lines, low maintenance, built right.

That’s the thing about hardwood. It doesn’t just look better. It makes the whole space feel different!

Sometimes the best thing you can do is start fresh.

Large format light blue tile, soft white hex floors, frameless glass shower, black trim, recessed lighting, and a proper layout done to code.

Really happy with how this one came together.

Not every remodel is a gut job. Sometimes swapping the floor is all you need.

Out with the cold, sterile floor and in with dark wood-look LVP laid on the diagonal. More elegant, more grounded. It’s amazing what the right floor can do for a space.🏠
