Part 1 of our new Things to Do in the Grand Rapids Area series! 🎶🌿

This time we're checking out the Frederik Meijer Gardens Amphitheater Summer Concert Series, and I have to say... it's one of my favorite ways to spend a summer evening.

What I loved:
🥪 You can pack your own picnic basket and enjoy dinner before the show.
🅿️ There’s plentiful free parking, which makes getting in and out easy.
🌅 Once the sun goes down, the atmosphere is absolutely magical.
🌸 The gardens and sculptures create one of the most charming concert settings around.
🎵 Even if you don't know the band, the experience alone makes it worth going.

A few things to know before you go:
☀️ It can get pretty warm while you're waiting for the sun to set.
🪑 Chair size rules are STRICT, so double-check the measurements before you arrive.
🍷 No glass containers are allowed, even something as simple as a bottle of red wine vinegar.
🍦 Snacks, ice cream, and drinks are available inside, and alcoholic beverages were around $15 each when we visited.

We caught The Wallflowers celebrating the 30th anniversary of Bringing Down the Horse, and hearing those songs again definitely brought back some memories.

Overall, I can't recommend this venue enough. Between the picnic-friendly atmosphere, free parking, beautiful setting, and unforgettable summer vibes, it's easily one of my favorite places to catch an outdoor concert in West Michigan.

Frank and I kicked off our new Lake Michigan beach review series with a trip to Warren Dunes in Sawyer, Michigan, and this one set the bar high.
✔️ Tons of parking ✔️ Clean bathrooms and showers ✔️ Over 2 miles of dog-friendly shoreline ✔️ Massive sand dunes ✔️ Beautiful beach ✔️ 53-degree water that I absolutely jumped into
My goal with this series is simple: to show off America's Third Coast and encourage everyone who lives near it to get out and enjoy the beach this summer.
We're lucky to have miles of freshwater shoreline right here in our backyard—no salt, no sharks, no worries.
