Today we’re closing out our Spring into Safety series by highlighting increased public activity near jobsites.

As communities emerge from winter, traffic patterns and pedestrian activity increase. Safety considerations:
- Review and refresh traffic control plans
- Inspect signage and barriers for visibility
- Increase flagger communication and awareness
- Coordinate with local agencies on closures
- Reinforce work zone safety protocols

Protecting the public is just as critical as protecting our crews. As builders, we carry a responsibility beyond the work zone.

It’s Administrative Professionals Day - and on our jobsites and in our offices, that means recognizing the people who keep everything on solid ground.

They track the details, move the paperwork, keep projects organized, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks. While our crews build the roads and bridges, our administrative professionals build the structures that keeps every project moving forward.

Strong foundations aren’t just poured in concrete - they’re built behind the scenes every single day.

Thank you for the grit, precision, and pride you bring to the work. We couldn’t build what matters without you.

Continuing our Spring into Safety series - today’s focus is thawing ground and changing site conditions.

As frost leaves the ground, stability can change beneath our feet and equipment. Safety considerations:
• Inspect trench walls and excavation supports regularly
• Evaluate haul roads and access points for soft spots
• Check crane pads and stabilized work platforms
• Monitor erosion and settlement
• Reinforce slip, trip, and fall awareness

Yesterday’s stable ground may not be today’s. Keep an understanding that yesterday’s conditions don’t guarantee today’s.

Continuing our Spring into Safety series - let’s talk about high winds.

Wind doesn’t just slow progress, it changes risk across the entire jobsite.

Safety considerations:
- Monitor wind thresholds for cranes and lifts
- Secure tools and materials at elevation
- Reassess scaffolding and temporary bracing
- Reinforce fall protection systems
- Maintain strong communication between operators and ground crews

If it can lift, shift, or sway - wind will test it. Always know when to pause, assess, and adjust.
