This week the Productive team is focusing on equipment safety. Forklifts, scissorlifts and boomlifts all present safety risks that need to be taken seriously whenever they are in use.
Fall hazards: Working from elevated platforms or man baskets increases fall risk. use proper fall protection and tie off at all times when working at height or near unprotected edges.
Caught-In/Between Hazards: Workers can be pinned between equipment and structures. use clear communication, spotters when needed, and maintain safe distance from moving equipment and loads.
Struck-By Hazards: tip overs, uneven ground, and shifting loads can cause serious injury. keep work zones clear during operation and never stand under elevated loads
Electrocution Hazards:
working at height increases exposure to overhead power lines. maintain proper clearance and always be aware of surrounding electrical hazards.
“Safety is not the absence of incidents, but rather, the presence of defenses.”
