Also I love the old brush box. It’s great to hear the guys sharing some of the old paint story’s. This place reminds me of an old local paint store we had in my home town in England.

Finch Custom Painting is seeking a Lead Painter for our team!

For us, being a painting professional means more than picking up a brush and slapping some paint on a wall. We are looking for someone who is a decent human being with a strong work ethic, and wants to learn and love what they do. Working with us is fast paced, fun and challenging.

The perfect fit:

• Professional experience required. We need someone who is in it to continuously learn, and further themself in the trade. We are willing to invest our time in the right candidate.

• Be a self starter and possess the ability to follow procedures and instructions, with little supervision.

• Someone who wants a career where they can take pride in work they've completed with their own two hands. This is a labor intensive career.

• Must have personal and reliable transportation. Our job sites vary across Metro Detroit.

• Must have personal and reliable phone service. Being able to communicate efficiently is a priority.

• We have a consistent work schedule. We need someone who will consistently be at the job site and be on time.

• Wear your uniform to work. Painter's whites are required.

• We value honest, ethical and professional individuals. Working for Finch Custom Painting means you're representing us in our client's homes.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Interior, Exterior and Cabinetry painting
Supervise and train apprentices and new hires if needed
Spray paint any coating in complex and intricate projects
Pick materials from the vendors/shop if needed
Can paint walls, ceilings, trim and all other surfaces
as per our Procedures.
Re-tape, mud and finish drywall corners and water damaged ceiling
Skim coat entire walls or ceilings
Spray paint final coats on any surface
Spray clear coats on cabinets and trim
High ladder work (17ft and above)
Spray paint primer on walls, primer and paint on the ceilings
Spray paint primer on cabinets both in house and the shop
Paint (brush and roll) cabinet frames from start to finish
Roll walls and ceilings
Cut straight lines between walls and ceilings
Repair cracks, nail pops and major imperfections in walls and ceilings
Cut straight lines on baseboards and around the window and door frames
Mask cabinets for spray paint
Wallpaper removal
Knowledge of setting up/cleaning sprayers, proper tip/needle sizes and proper pressures
Set up cabinet frames spray area (mask cabinets, plastic off ceilings, appliances, walls, zip-walls and set up the fan/exhaust and sprayer)
