When the company started, we wanted a name that was creative, memorable, and not tied to one individual—something that reflected the hard work and dedication of the entire team. Sure, we could have gone with something like “Eric’s Landscaping” or “Lambert’s Lawn Care,” but those felt, well… lazy. Grass Monkey was born out of a desire to stand out and celebrate the collective effort that makes our business successful.
Now, why a monkey? Monkeys are known for their playful energy, teamwork, and ability to get things done with a little fun along the way. Plus, the name “Grass Monkey” has some layers:
• It’s a playful twist on the familiar phrase “Grease Monkey,” giving it a sense of familiarity.
• It might remind you of that catchy Beastie Boys song (you’re singing it now, aren’t you?).
• And honestly, who doesn’t smile when they think of a monkey? 🐵
The logo? It’s inspired by the patas monkey, found in the grasslands of Africa. Did you know they’re the fastest primates in the world? That speed and efficiency felt like a perfect fit for what we strive to deliver to our customers every day.

From building a loyal base of incredible clients to expanding our services and crew, every step has been about growth and teamwork.
