Update from Greg’s wife, Hilary.

We continue to be overwhelmed with kindness from friends, our community, customers and even complete strangers. A lot of our blessings have been anonymous so I can’t thank you personally but please know we feel the love and are so appreciative.

We haven’t had much good news lately and it’s been…incredibly hard. Most days I’m hanging on by my finger nails powered only by loaded tea and a promise.

Throughout this whole nightmare I have often been stopped in my tracks by the simple goodness of people. Today, Ivan was having a tough time and was a bit overwhelmed and emotional. One of his friends recognized that he was struggling and came right up to us. He calmly waited until Ivan felt comfortable again and then promised Ivan he would not leave his side. I could see the relief on my boy’s face when his friend walked right up to an adult and requested Ivan be switched to his group so he could be there to support him. I know this 7-year old boy has no idea the impact he made today but he was there when Ivan needed him. It’s moments like that I will never forget.

People are always asking what they can do for us. Here are two things:

🩵 Mail Greg or Ivan a card or letter - happy mail is always welcome.
🩵 Pray - specifically for Greg’s physical comfort and Ivan’s emotional comfort.

♥️ A quick update from Hilary. ♥️

We continue to get well wishes from friends and customers and the outpouring of love for our family has been overwhelming. We simply cannot thank everyone enough for all that you’ve done. Lots of blessings received have been anonymous so I’m not able to thank you personally. So whether you have dropped food, sent a card, added us to a prayer list, sent us packages thru the mail, made arrangements with local small businesses, sent a text, given hugs….please know that we are grateful and I promise to pass your kindness on right down the line.

Several weeks ago Greg was diagnosed with advanced stage cancer. A long story short (because I often get asked and don’t mind sharing), he had been feeling unwell for weeks - fatigue, unexplained weight loss, trouble breathing, and lots of other small issues that we had originally thought was pneumonia would not go away. After months of seeing different doctors, labs, imaging, etc. we finally got an answer. (Listen to your body, make sure you have someone in your corner advocating for you and continue to push until a medical professional listens.)

Greg will begin his second round of chemo and immunotherapy on April 22. Please know that overall he is doing well and we are lucky to have Ivan to keep him smiling.

Many of you have asked “what can we do?”
If you believe in the power of prayer then we welcome prayers for Greg’s comfort and for our Ivan who is realizing at seven years old that life can be really really hard.

There are several possible causes for your electrical outlet burning unexpectedly, such as:

🔌Overloading of the outlet by plugging in too many electronics
🔌Loose or damaged wiring that leads to heat and sparks
🔌Faulty outlet that has internal damage or loose connections
🔌Poor installation of the outlet or the wiring
🔌Old outlets that are worn out or outdated
🔌Electrical surges that damage the outlet or the wiring
🔌High-wattage appliances that draw more power than the outlet can handle
🔌Environmental factors - moisture, dust, or pests that affect the outlet or wiring

Any of these causes can result in overheating, arcing, or fire, which can be very dangerous.
