Found asbestos or concerned that you might have it? Know who to call.

This is what proper asbestos abatement looks like.

On this recent project, Greg Crider and our Baxter Environmental Group team were addressing asbestos-containing insulation around piping and a water heater.

The protective suit isn't for show. Neither are the HEPA vacuum, controlled removal methods, or careful cleaning afterward.

When asbestos-containing material needs to be disturbed or removed, how the work is handled matters.

Our team carefully removed the asbestos-containing insulation and followed the removal with HEPA vacuuming and damp wiping to thoroughly clean the affected surfaces.

And if you're looking at old pipe insulation, flooring, siding or another material and wondering whether it contains asbestos, don't rely on appearance alone. You don't know whether a material contains asbestos until it's tested.

Baxter can help with the entire process:
🔎 Asbestos sampling
📋 Asbestos surveys
🛠️ Professional asbestos abatement

Our asbestos team includes experienced, licensed, AHERA- and ASHARA-trained professionals who perform abatement in accordance with applicable federal and state requirements.

Have an asbestos concern in your home or building? Don't guess and don't disturb it. Start with Baxter.

Some of the most important people at Baxter are the ones making sure everyone else has what they need to do their jobs. ❤️

This Friday, we're shining the spotlight on .wenger, Office Assistant, and someone who has been part of our story for a long time.

Darlene originally worked with Steve James before the company was acquired by , and she has been with us since 2012.

If we had to describe Darlene's approach to work, it would be pretty simple: Give it to Darlene. She'll get it done.

She's low maintenance, works quickly, and has played an important role in keeping our office organized. When our team needs information, paperwork or something tracked down so they can keep a project moving, having someone like Darlene behind the scenes makes a difference.

Because great customer service doesn't begin when a Baxter truck arrives at a property. It starts in the office, where people are making sure our technicians and project managers have the information and support they need to do their jobs well.

And when Darlene isn't keeping Team Baxter organized? Her greatest passion is her family, and spending time with them is where you'll find her happiest.

Darlene, thank you for all the years you've spent keeping us organized, keeping us moving and simply getting it done. We're lucky to have you on !

You don't always need to SEE water to have a moisture problem.

Sometimes, you just need to know where to look.

Take this photo from a recent project. Our technician's meter was reading approximately 69% relative humidity inside this room.

For comparison, Baxter generally recommends keeping indoor relative humidity around 35–40%.

Why does that matter?

Mold needs moisture or humidity to grow. When indoor humidity stays elevated, you're creating conditions that can allow mold growth, sometimes before you ever notice anything visibly wrong.

That's why the number on this meter isn't just a number.

It's a clue.

If you've had a leak, water intrusion, persistent musty odor, unusually humid rooms or you're simply concerned about what may be happening inside your property, don't wait for a visible mold problem to start asking questions.

Baxter can help assess the situation, identify potential concerns and, when appropriate, perform mold sampling and remediation. Baxter's mold samples are analyzed by an independent third-party laboratory.

Something feel a little too damp? Let's find out why.

🕵️‍♂️🦆 DUCK DETECTIVE: CASE #002 — THE DIRTY DUCTS

Our Duck Detective received a tip that something suspicious was happening inside this HVAC system.

Upon further investigation...We found our evidence. 👀

Swipe to follow the case:
🔎 THE EVIDENCE: Significant buildup inside the ductwork.
🕵️ THE INVESTIGATION: Baxter gets to work cleaning the system.
✅ CASE CLOSED: Now that's what we want to see.

Not every HVAC system automatically needs its ductwork cleaned. But when an inspection reveals significant dust, debris or other concerns inside the system, it may be time to do something about it.

So...what's hiding in your ducts?

Don't guess. Put the Duck Detective on the case.

📞 Call at 717-263-7341 to ask about an HVAC duct inspection.

The work matters. So do the people doing it.

A couple of weeks ago, we traded job sites for the river at our annual Baxter River Party. A chance for our crew to bring their families, get out on the water and spend some time together away from work.

Brandon Roberts brought along his girlfriend, Tianna, and their son, Asher. Naturally, Brandon and some of the guys found their way to the fishing rods. 🎣

If you know Brandon on the job, you know he's someone we can count on to get the job done. That's important at Baxter. The work we perform for our customers requires people who show up, work hard and take responsibility for doing things the right way.

But we also know there's more to the people on our team than what happens on a job site.

They're parents. Partners. Friends. And they have families waiting for them when the workday is over.

That's one reason gatherings like our River Party mean so much to us. We want Baxter to be a place where people work hard together, enjoy each other's company and know their families are part of the Baxter family, too.

Work hard. Take care of each other. And every once in a while, go fishing. 🎣

Thanks for everything you bring to Team Baxter, Brandon and thanks to Tianna and Asher for sharing the day with us!

Planning a commercial renovation? Before you disturb it, know what's there.

A few weeks ago, we showed you the exterior of this commercial asbestos abatement project, where our Baxter team worked from scaffolding and a lift to remove asbestos-containing siding and windows.

Here's the other side of that project.

That's Cole Rosenberry working from inside the building as our team carefully removes materials so the project can safely move forward.

And that's the part of asbestos work we want commercial property owners, facility managers and contractors to think about before renovation or demolition begins.

Asbestos-containing materials aren't always obvious by looking at them. If materials will be disturbed during construction, knowing what you're dealing with early can help you plan the work appropriately and avoid discovering an environmental concern after the project is already underway.

Baxter's experienced asbestos team includes licensed, AHERA- and ASHARA-trained professionals who can help with asbestos inspections, sampling, surveys and abatement.

Have a commercial renovation or demolition project coming up?

Bring Baxter into the conversation early.

🚤 When your Operations Manager asks to drive the boss’s boat… you hand her the keys!

Meet Samantha “Sam” Brown, Operations Manager at Baxter Environmental Group, Inc. and, as of our recent annual river party, boat captain in training. 😎

Samantha Brown loves dogs, conservation and boating. There was just one small problem with that last hobby…

She had never actually driven a boat.

She’d been wanting to learn, so Sam first asked Emily and then Jocelyne, “Can I come down one day and learn to drive the boat?”

Well, Baxter’s annual river party on the Potomac River presented the perfect opportunity.

And if you know Jocelyne, you can probably guess what happened next. Sam got behind the wheel! 🚤

Our annual river party is one of the ways we live out our work hard, play hard mentality. Jocelyne opens up her home and boat to give the team a chance to relax, have fun and build relationships away from the day-to-day demands of the job.

And Sam certainly works hard.

Behind the scenes, she's responsible for some of the details that keep Baxter running smoothly including company and individual licensing, vendor relationships and medical requirements for our entire staff. Licensing alone can require as many as 40 hours of Sam's time each month.

It takes someone who is incredibly organized, detail-oriented and great at keeping everyone (and everything!) in line.

That's Sam. 💚

We love creating opportunities for our team to grow professionally, but we also love seeing them pursue the things that make them happy outside of work.

Sam, thanks for everything you do to keep Team Baxter organized and moving forward.

And Jocelyne… you may have created a monster. We hear Sam still wants a boat of her own. 😂🚤

Some of the most important work on a commercial project happens before the next phase can begin.

For this commercial project, our Baxter Environmental Group, Inc. team worked from scaffolding and a lift to safely remove exterior windows and asbestos-containing siding.

It was a big job and one where the details matter.

When asbestos-containing building materials need to be disturbed or removed during a renovation, demolition or exterior project, you don't simply tear them out and move on. The work requires trained professionals, proper procedures and careful handling to help protect the people working on the project and the surrounding environment.

That's where our team comes in.

At Baxter, our job isn't just to remove a material. It's to help our clients and project partners move forward knowing an environmental concern is being handled by people trained to do the work properly.

Whether we're working from the ground, on scaffolding or from a lift several stories up, that commitment doesn't change:

Protect the people. Protect the project. Do the job right.

This client's location will remain confidential, but we're proud of the Baxter team behind the work.

Planning a commercial renovation, demolition or construction project that may involve asbestos-containing materials? Bring Baxter into the conversation early.

🎉 Congratulations, Terry!

We’re proud to celebrate Terry on completing his Lead training through AMA and taking another important step toward becoming certified and licensed for lead work.

At Baxter Environmental Group, training isn’t something we check off a list. It’s part of how we take care of people.

Before members of our team work independently on these projects, they go through the classroom education, testing and hands-on field training necessary to do the job safely and correctly. For Terry, that means completing his classroom training and testing, followed by months of supervised, on-the-job training before we turn him loose on his own.

Why do we invest that much into our people?

Because our clients deserve a team that knows what they’re doing.

And our employees deserve a company that gives them the knowledge, experience and support they need to succeed.

That’s the culture we want at Baxter: train people well, support them well, and give them the tools to serve others well.

Terry, congratulations on reaching this milestone! We’re proud to have you on Team Baxter and excited to watch you put that training to work. 👏💚
