Every backpack tells a story.

For some students, a backpack filled with school supplies means more than having the items they need for the first day of school. It represents confidence, preparation and the support of a community behind them.

DCS Contracting recently partnered with the West Valley Community Center to support its annual haircut and backpack giveaway, helping provide local children with the supplies they need to start the school year ready to learn.

Last year, the event distributed more than 600 backpacks, with additional school supplies continuing to support children throughout the school year. We appreciate Annie Ansell and the West Valley Community Center team for allowing our team to be part of an effort that helps students and families across the West Valley.

Thank you to our DCS teammates who donated backpacks, school supplies and other items to help make this effort possible. Their generosity demonstrates the impact our people can make when we come together to support the communities where we live and work.

DCS Contracting is growing, and we're looking for experienced leaders to help build what's next.

For more than three decades, our self-performing teams have delivered heavy civil work that Arizona communities depend on every day. That kind of track record isn't built on equipment alone. It's built by people who bring precision, discipline and a relentless standard of excellence to every project we deliver.

If you've built your career on construction expertise and you're ready to put that experience on a team that backs it up with real opportunity, we want to hear from you.

We're hiring for multiple positions across our field and project leadership teams. Explore open roles today and build your future with us: https://www.dcscontracting.com/careers/

Every project begins with a foundation. So does every life.

Long before we learned a trade, a profession or a title, someone taught us what commitment looks like, what resilience looks like and what it means to lead when no one's watching.

This Father's Day, we recognize the fathers and father figures who led by example rather than instruction, who showed up on the hard days without needing credit for it.

Thank you to the men whose influence outlasts any job site. The work they put in is still standing in the people who learned from it.

Happy Father’s Day!

Improving Apache Junction's Neighborhood Streets

DCS Contracting is proud to be making infrastructure improvements for the City of Apache Junction. Work is now underway on roadway and concrete improvements along Cornwell Drive, Desert View Place and Desert View Drive — a project that will improve drainage, pedestrian connectivity and pavement conditions for the surrounding community. Scope includes asphalt paving, curb and gutter installation, sidewalk construction, valley gutter, rip rap protection and associated drainage improvements. The project is scheduled for completion by mid-July. We're grateful to the City of Apache Junction and engineer of record Atwell, LLC for the opportunity to deliver work that directly serves the people who live and work in this community.

Work continues to advance on the Shea Blvd Widening project in Fountain Hills.

Our crews are currently in the heart of a mass grading and soil cement operation along the project corridor. The work involves excavating an existing slope, stockpiling the material on site and crushing it down so it can be blended with soil cement and compacted back in place. This carefully sequenced process stabilizes the subgrade and prepares the foundation for a new eastbound travel lane between Palisades Blvd and Fountain Hills Blvd. The mass grading and soil cement work is one of the most critical features of this project, and seeing it come together on site is a testament to the skill and dedication of our field crews. With this phase on track for completion in June, our teams will transition into storm drain installation, asphalt removal and curb and gutter construction as we build toward final paving. DCS Contracting is honored to work alongside our partners at the Town of Fountain Hills and construction manager Kitchell on a project that will deliver a lasting improvement to one of the community's most traveled corridors.

All In Together: Recognize, Respond, Respect.

Throughout National Construction Safety Week, DCS Contracting brought teams together across multiple operations to reinforce the training, awareness and conversations that help keep our jobsites safe every day. The week included the rollout of our Emergency Response Plan, a saw safety demonstration led by Roger Tittle of NEFCO, and equipment safety training for crews working on the Shea Boulevard widening project in Fountain Hills. Led by Scott Kruse of Empire Cat, the session focused on proper Pre Use Inspections for the CAT 950 Loader and the importance of staying alert around heavy equipment. We were also proud to have Justin Weldy from the Town of Fountain Hills and David Harms from Kitchell spend time with the team during the week. Their continued support in the field means a great deal to our crews. We closed out the week alongside RCCM and Brookfield Properties, who joined us for a shared lunch and a reminder that the strongest safety cultures are built by people who stay engaged, speak up and look out for one another long after the week comes to an end.
