School garden update…

We’ve got mulch spread out, but we’re still short by 2-3 bags.

This is Cuban Oregano…

It also called Mexican mint, Spanish thyme and Indian borage. It is an awesome herb with thick leaves with a sweet, earthy scent that’s a mix of oregano, thyme, and mint.

Super easy to propagate!

Grow by cutting a 3- to 4-inch stem just below a leaf node and planting it in moist soil.

I replaced one of my 1 year old Castor Bean TREE with a pretty big patio —this particular Castor Bean was just not doing it for me anymore.

The newer leaves seemed stunt — way smaller than it’s supposed to be… I just needed something quick that will provide more protection for my plant babies!

This is NOT the BEST WAY to prune your mulberry!

I was trying to remove the tree by chopping chunks of it out at a time —as you can see, it did not work.

Another school garden update…

Changed the sprayer, saturated the grounds, staked the raised beds in place, brought in the plants that were generously donated by Tropical Botanical Nursery.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t get any plants into the ground or the raised beds.

Today— students’ 1st day back — I was running around showing the kids where their classes were and by the time school is over it was 111° — I am dead tired…

Donations for the school garden…

Today, I received a generous plants (trees, shrubs, berries) donation from Tropical Botanical Nursery.

I’ll show all the plants in future school garden updates.

The owner also gifted necessary irrigation setup items, including an automatic timer, soft lines, 1/4-inch spaghetti lines and more!
