You probably never think about the floor in your elevator. But in a commercial building, that marble takes more abuse than almost any other surface. Thousands of steps, every single day.

We recently restored a marble elevator cab floor in the DC metro area. The cream marble tiles and golden strips had lost all their shine from years of heavy foot traffic.

Using Old World honing and polishing techniques, we brought the stone back to life. No waxes. No harmful chemicals. Just proper stone care that reveals what was always underneath.

With over 30 years of experience in natural stone restoration, we bring the same care to your home's foyer or kitchen countertop that we bring to a commercial elevator floor or a historic monument.

If your stone surfaces have lost their polish, we can help. Call us to discuss your project.

This homeowner in Fairfax had a gorgeous pieced marble dining table that had gone completely dull.

We restored the entire surface using Old World honing and polishing techniques. No waxes. No harmful chemicals. The natural veining and mosaic pattern came back to life, and the polish reflects light the way it did on day one.

If you have natural stone floors, you might recognize this. It all happens gradually, then one day you realize the surface is just dull, the shine you fell in love with is gone.

This travertine foyer in Marshall, VA was exactly that. A beautiful herringbone pattern with dark stone border inlay, but the finish had worn away over years of daily life.

We restored the floor using Old World honing and polishing techniques. No waxes. No harmful chemicals. The travertine's natural color and reflection are fully back.

Just finished restoring the marble countertops in a Creighton Farms estate kitchen, and the results are worth sharing.

The white marble had lost its polish over time. Using Old World honing and polishing techniques, we brought the surface back to a mirror finish. No waxes. No harmful chemicals. Just careful, patient work on the stone itself.

That reflection across the countertop in the photo? That is the marble. Nothing coated on top.

Marble restoration is a fraction of the cost of replacement and preserves the original stone your kitchen was designed around. If your countertops have gone dull, it might be time to give us a call.

This is not your typical before and after.

A sculpted marble bust inside the US Court of Appeals in Washington, DC had been sitting under years of accumulated grime. The white marble had turned gray and yellow, and the carved detail of the face and clothing was almost lost under the buildup.

We restored it using Old World techniques and the natural white marble came back. And, with it, all of the fine detail the sculptor originally carved of this gentleman returned to life.

Marble Doctor has been restoring natural stone for over 30 years. We work on everything from kitchen countertops to government buildings, and as a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, government stone care is work we are proud to do.

Just wrapped up a marble countertop restoration in Washington, DC.

This kitchen island had simply dulled over the years; nothing unusual for a surface that gets used every day. The marble itself was in great shape, it just needed the finish brought back to life.

We honed and polished the full countertop using the same Old World techniques we use on everything from residential kitchens to historic buildings. No waxes. No harsh chemicals. Just the stone, restored.

If your countertops, floors, or bathroom stone look worn, it is almost always the finish, not the stone. Restoration is a fraction of the cost of replacement, and the results speak for themselves.

That reflection in the marble is not a filter. Those are the stained glass windows at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, mirrored in the sanctuary floor after restoration.

Marble floors in churches see a lot of wear from foot traffic. Over time the surface dulls and the stone loses that deep clarity it had when it was first installed. Replacing it would cost a fortune and disrupt the space for weeks.

Restoration brings it back. We honed and polished this floor using the same Old World techniques used on European cathedrals for centuries. No waxes, no chemicals, just the natural stone restored to its original finish.

If your church, office, or home has stone that has lost its shine, don't replace it. Call (703) 631-4625 or visit marbledoctorva.com for a free estimate.

Marble kitchen floors live a full life. Years of foot traffic, cooking, and everyday use naturally take a toll on the stone's finish.

This homeowner in Fairfax Station had watched their marble gradually lose its luster over the years. Looking at the floors, you'd think they needed to be replaced entirely.

One restoration later, the floor looks the way it did when it was first installed. Old World honing and polishing techniques, no waxes, no harmful chemicals. Just the marble, brought back.

Natural stone is meant to last. When it starts looking tired, restoration is almost always the answer. And it costs a fraction of what new stone would.
