This is the approach we are mostly following as well. There’s hope for a few survivors, so we aren’t liquidating but are definitely trying to capture some value before they would waste.

Modern logging is a blend of specialized technology and seasoned skill. Our recently released and first of its kind Northeast Region logging and trucking economic study looked at exactly how our crews are getting the job done across the seven-state region:

• 47% Cut-to-Length Crews – Utilizing advanced harvesters and forwarders for high-precision wood processing.
• 42% Whole Tree Crews – A powerhouse of regional production, typically using feller bunchers and skidders.
• 11% Conventional/Hand Crews – Representing the vital manual skill and specialized traditional methods still used in our woods today.

Different terrain and different goals require different tools, but every one of these crews is essential to our $1.3 billion regional impact.
