We’ve completed both the single stain and double stain sample areas. One section of the concrete has also gone through final prep using a ceramic-grade diamond screen (80 grit, as specified by the manufacturer) to remove any micro-scratches from the surface.
For the samples, we applied a terra-cotta stain first, neutralized it with an ammonia/bicarbonate solution, and then overlaid it with a dark walnut acid stain, which is scheduled to be neutralized tomorrow. We also completed a wet grind with the same 80-grit ceramic diamond screen, which removed all swirl marks from the planetary machine. Any remaining micro-scratches should be fully filled once the epoxy is applied.
I’ve attached photos showing the prep work, the dark walnut over terra-cotta prepped and acid stand awaiting two final coats of hundred percent solids epoxy resin three times harder than Concrete!

Project Spotlight: MUSC Parking Garage Concrete Repair & Renovation
Concrete Finish Systems, LLC is proud to have successfully completed a detailed concrete repair and renovation project at the MUSC parking facility. Our team diamond saw-cut the existing slab, removed deteriorated concrete, and installed reinforced #4 and #5 rebar in accordance with the architect’s and project manager’s specifications.
We poured back a custom fiber-reinforced concrete mix achieving 7,000–9,000 PSI strength, verified through a 30-day break and compression test performed by the engineering firm—with results exceeding expectations.
Expansion joints were precisely cut and filled using Sika expansion joint sealer, ensuring long-term durability and performance as designed in the project’s plans and specifications.
