Project Spotlight: MUSC Parking Garage Concrete Repair & Renovation
Concrete Finish Systems, LLC is proud to have successfully completed a detailed concrete repair and renovation project at the MUSC parking facility. Our team diamond saw-cut the existing slab, removed deteriorated concrete, and installed reinforced #4 and #5 rebar in accordance with the architect’s and project manager’s specifications.
We poured back a custom fiber-reinforced concrete mix achieving 7,000–9,000 PSI strength, verified through a 30-day break and compression test performed by the engineering firm—with results exceeding expectations.
Expansion joints were precisely cut and filled using Sika expansion joint sealer, ensuring long-term durability and performance as designed in the project’s plans and specifications.

Phase one into our complete of a rebar reinforced concrete block filled cinderblocks with number five rebar and fiberglass reinforcement, phase 3 will hopefully happen tomorrow and it will consist of 2 1/2 cantilevered decorative concrete cap with integral concrete stain, sealer, and decorative reminders of Bowens Island and a unique Southern charm and Charlestonian decor!
Adding number one number two Oyster tabby, tumbled sea glass, tumbled black, river cobblestones, a couple of megalodon sharks teeth I managed to save over the years and fishing lures, maybe and an oyster knife,

Foundation complete, and framing is closer to our 3 to 5 day dry in scope of work goal 🙂 we will update you once the project is dried in, and we are staining the existing concrete to match the new concrete!
