Title: Fire Sprinkler Designer/Layout Technician

A Brewer & Company Sprinkler Designer/ Layout Technician will design and layout fire sprinkler systems in accordance with all NFPA codes and Fire Marshal requirements. The Designer will perform all preliminary and final hydraulic calculations and size piping so that material can be fabricated and installed according to jobsite conditions.
A Brewer & Company Sprinkler Designer/ Layout Technician will work with the Estimator/Project Manager for the transfer of project information. This information includes estimated materials, preliminary designs, water flow information and architectural/mechanical construction documents.
An applicant must have some AutoCad experience. All fire protection code training will occur on the job. As a designer becomes proficient in AutoCad, they will begin to learn the fire sprinkler design package used in AutoCad. Designer will eventually learn to use Navisworks and BIM (Building Information Modeling).
The Designer will become proficient with all NFPA codes regarding fire sprinkler installation.
The Designer is expected to take responsibility for the jobs they are designing. The Designer will attend coordination meetings on jobsites and provide customer support to the owner, general contractor, and architect, as well as monitoring job progress internally to ensure that jobs are completed “on budget.”
You will be an hourly employee and will work overtime on an as needed basis.
You will be an “at will” employee. There will be no binding contract between the employer and the employee. Brewer & Company Designers report to, and work from either the Charleston, Morgantown, or Martinsburg office. You will be expected to be at the office on a daily basis, or traveling to jobsites.
