Not every piece that I restore is an antique and many restorers will tell you that modern pieces are a little more difficult as the materials are harder to work with.
Had fun fixing a broken wing on this Falcon sculpture .. but happy that he is home with his family and no longer staring at me with his very judgmental eyes.

I fell in love with the idea of art restoration and conservation when I saw an article in National Geographic in 1989 about the restoration of the Sistine Chapel. I can only hope that someone goes to see this and it creates a spark in them like the article did in me!! It is a profession that is not mentioned at things like High School career day. Show your kids the arts and the idea that lying on your back on top of 40 ft tall scaffolding using only a q-tip to clean an entire ceiling is the coolest job on the planet!
