Dan Cristiani Excavating was proud to roll up our sleeves on Friday alongside Gotta Go, Inc., DC Develop, and a great group of local businesses, organizations, and volunteers helping move the first phase of Shadow Lake Park closer to the finish line.

Thank you to the City of Charlestown, the Charlestown Parks Department, and Mayor Treva Hodges for leading an effort that will give families another place to gather, play, and enjoy the outdoors.

Projects like this take dirt work, teamwork, and people willing to show up. We’re grateful to be part of a community that does all three.

We’re proud to see Dan Cristiani Excavating CEO Chris Jackson invited to speak at Ivy Tech’s OneSummit in French Lick.

Chris was asked to be part of an alumni panel during the statewide conference, which brings together more than 600 Ivy Tech faculty and staff from across Indiana each year. This year’s event is focused on a full-circle look at the people who make Ivy Tech what it is, including students, employees, alumni, and donors.

Chris’s story is a strong example of that impact. Ivy Tech has long played an important role in helping prepare the kind of driven, skilled people who move industries and communities forward, and we’re honored to see Chris included in that conversation. We appreciate Ivy Tech for the invitation and for the work it continues to do across Indiana.

CREW OF THE MONTH | Willie and his crew earned Crew of the Month for taking on a project that showcased Dan Cristiani Excavating’s growing skill set even further.

The UV Disinfection Improvements project was a success, and this crew stayed on it through cold, snow, rain, and tough conditions without missing a single day for weather, helping keep the job on time and under budget.

That kind of grit, adaptability, and follow-through is what gets it done. Congratulations to Willie, Superintendent Justin, Project Manager Josh, and the entire crew on a job well done.

National Surveyors Week hits different when you know who’s behind the lines.

Before anything gets built, before a single yard of dirt moves, our survey team is out there putting precision on the ground. They don’t guess. They define. And everything that follows depends on getting it right.

Tony Kruer – 30 years with DC – Construction Surveyor
Bryan Seigle – Manager and Licensed Land Surveyor
Luis Arredondo – Construction Surveyor – 5 years with DC – graduating this December to become a Licensed Land Surveyor
Patrick Crowe – Construction Surveyor and Drone Pilot – 2 years with DC
Wesley Davis – Construction Surveyor – 2 months with DC
Zach Hampton – CAD Tech and Drone Pilot – 3 years with DC

From hand-drawn maps to drones, GPS, and 3D scanning, surveying has always been about one thing: laying the foundation for everything that comes next.

It’s been that way since the beginning. George Washington. Thomas Jefferson. Abraham Lincoln. All surveyors. They understood the land before they led the nation.

Same principle still applies.

At Dan Cristiani Excavating, this team sets the line. The grade. The standard.

And the rest of us build on it.

Weekends, early mornings, long hauls — whatever it takes.

Gotta Go, Inc. drivers Don Zollman and Daniel Jackson have been putting in the miles to support the Jeffersonville High School Band, hauling equipment for winter percussion competitions the past several weekends.

Donnie’s been showing up for years. Daniel jumped in this past marching season. Same mindset from both: be there, be reliable, get it done right.

The band said it best: These guys are knowledgeable, dependable, and always willing to go the extra mile. And that’s exactly what they’ve done.

Most people will never see this side of the job. But it matters. A lot.

Thank you, Donnie and Daniel, for showing up and helping these students perform at their best.

Each year, the Dan Cristiani Excavating family of companies takes time to recognize the people who make the work possible. Our Years of Service Awards luncheon gave us the chance to celebrate the team members whose dedication keeps these companies moving forward.

This recognition is usually part of our annual Christmas party, but between winter weather and crews working hard at UPS, we had to cancel twice. So we gathered for a luncheon instead — and yes, the gifts were still wrapped in Christmas paper.

Years like these don’t happen by accident. They’re built day by day by people who take pride in the work and the team beside them.

Congratulations to this year’s honorees:

As Women in Construction Week wraps up, we’re recognizing the women across the Dan Cristiani Excavating family of companies who help keep everything moving.

From the office to the jobsite, they’re managing projects, coordinating crews, solving problems, and making sure the work gets done right.

Around here, it’s not about titles — it’s about showing up, being part of a team, and digging in.
