Our cedar shake tear-off and DaVinci Roofscapes installation is moving right along, and we’re taking the time to get every detail right.

Next step: Custom-fabricated copper drip edge!

At Taylor Roofing, we believe a premium roofing system deserves premium materials from the decking all the way to the finishing touches.

For this project, we’re installing custom-made copper drip edge, carefully fitted to the roof’s unique dimensions and secured with stainless steel nails.

Why does this matter?

šŸ”¹ Custom Fabrication: Each piece is made to fit the roofline for a clean, precise finish.

šŸ”¹ Copper Durability: Copper offers exceptional longevity, corrosion resistance, and develops a beautiful natural patina over time.

šŸ”¹ Stainless Steel Fasteners: We use corrosion-resistant stainless steel nails to help prevent rust and deterioration while maintaining compatibility with the copper.

šŸ”¹ Water Management: Properly installed drip edge helps direct water away from vulnerable roof edges, protecting the fascia and underlying structure.

šŸ”¹ Attention to Detail: The components you barely notice are often the ones that make the biggest difference in long-term performance.

When you’re investing in a premium DaVinci roofing system, what goes underneath matters just as much as what goes on top.

We’re not just replacing a roof. We’re building a complete roofing system designed for beauty, durability, and long-term protection.

šŸ”Ø Mid-Job Inspections: Because What’s Underneath Matters!

At Taylor Roofing, quality control doesn’t start and stop with the finished product.

During a recent mid-job inspection, our team discovered damaged roof decking that needed to be replaced before moving forward with the installation.

Why is this important? Even the highest-quality shingles won’t perform properly if the structure underneath them is compromised. Damaged decking can lead to poor fastener retention, uneven roofing surfaces, and potential structural concerns.

That’s why we take the time to inspect our projects throughout the installation process, not just when the job is complete.

āœ… Identifying hidden issues
āœ… Replacing compromised decking
āœ… Verifying proper installation methods
āœ… Holding our crews to Taylor Roofing standards

A beautiful roof means nothing if what’s underneath isn’t done right.

Every great company has people who go above and beyond, but every once in a while, you have someone who truly does it all.

At Taylor Roofing, that guy is Carson King, our Field Supervisor, better known to many as ā€œThe Roofing Cowboy.ā€ šŸ¤ šŸ”Ø

From overseeing job sites and coordinating crews to handling unexpected problems, making sure materials are where they need to be, and ensuring every project meets our standards, Carson wears more hats than just that cowboy hat.

There’s not much this guy doesn’t do for Taylor Roofing.

He’s the guy who gets the early morning starts, the late-night cleanups, and everything in between. When something goes wrong, he’s the one figuring out how to make it right. When a job needs an extra set of hands, he’s there. When a challenge comes up that nobody else wants to deal with, Carson doesn’t hesitate to take it on.

And while roofing is already one of the toughest industries out there, Carson takes on one of the most demanding roles in our entire company.

Nobody puts in more hours. Nobody carries a tougher workload. And nobody is more willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done.

What makes Carson so valuable isn’t just his work ethic. It’s his willingness to take ownership, solve problems, support our crews, and make sure our customers receive the quality of work they deserve.

One of our favorite architectural roofing features — custom barrel eyebrow roofs!

These beautifully curved roof accents add dimension, character, and elegance to a home’s exterior. But achieving this look takes more than just quality materials. It requires precision, craftsmanship, and careful attention to every detail.

At Taylor Roofing, we take pride in bringing unique architectural designs to life, combining premium roofing materials with custom metalwork to create a finished product that truly stands out.

Because a roof shouldn’t just protect your home — it should complement its architecture.

Why does a Taylor Roofing pipe boot repair cost more?

We get this question from time to time, especially when someone compares our repair price to what appears to be a simple $20 pipe boot replacement.

The difference is that we’re not just replacing a $20 piece of rubber. We’re repairing the entire roof pe*******on.

When Taylor Roofing replaces a pipe boot, our process includes removing the surrounding shingles and inspecting the roof decking underneath for moisture damage or rot. From there, we rebuild the area properly with:

* New shingles
* New pipe boot/flashing
* Ice & water shield around the pe*******on
* Synthetic underlayment
* Proper roofing sealants
* Inspection of the exposed decking
* Proper integration of every layer so the roof sheds water the way it was designed to

Take a close look at this photo. This is what you’re actually paying for.

A pipe boot itself may only cost a few dollars. The value is in properly opening the roof, inspecting what’s underneath, waterproofing the pe*******on, and rebuilding the roofing system around it.

There’s a big difference between covering up a potential leak and properly repairing one.

At Taylor Roofing, we choose the second option.

🌳 When storm damage goes beyond the shingles…

A tree came down on this home during a windstorm and caused significant damage to the roof structure. This one required much more than a typical roof replacement — damaged decking and framing had to be removed and the roof structure rebuilt before the exterior roofing system could go back together.

At Taylor Roofing, we’re equipped to handle the complicated storm-damage projects too. From the initial inspection and structural repairs to putting the roof back together correctly, our goal is to restore the home the right way — not just cover up the damage.

Storm damage? Fallen tree? Not sure how extensive the damage is?

Finishing touches in Bermuda Run šŸ”ØšŸ

Our crew is wrapping up this project with custom copper step flashing, properly installed to protect one of the most vulnerable areas of the roof system.

Quality craftsmanship isn’t just about what you see—it’s about making sure the details are built to last.
