New look, same Mountaineer spirit.

Warco is proud to have helped refresh the Appalachian State University Bookstore, creating an updated space for students, faculty, staff, and the entire campus community to enjoy.

Project highlights include a two-story wood feature wall with custom integrated millwork elements, along with wood-look felt ceiling baffles designed to complement the wood wall and custom fabric-wrapped acoustical cloud panels in a signature Mountaineer yellow. All thoughtfully designed to balance quality, functionality, and budget.

It’s more than a ceiling, it’s the focal point of the space.

Our team installed a backlit CLIPSO ceiling system that serves as the primary lighting feature above the grand staircase, creating a striking focal point while enhancing acoustics. Purposefully designed seams echo the adjacent light fixtures, showcasing the careful attention to detail behind every element. Together with the surrounding grooved acoustical wood ceiling planks, the ceiling creates a cohesive design that balances aesthetics, lighting, and acoustical performance.

Floor-to-ceiling glass created an incredible atmosphere, but it also came with an acoustical challenge.

Our team installed acoustical baffles and re-hung the existing hanging plants to help improve sound performance, all during an overnight installation so guests and staff never missed a beat.

Now, the best seat in the house sounds as good as it looks.

Detail drives every finish. This interior was fine-tuned for full throttle performance, featuring PET/Felt acoustic clouds, Novawall systems, and custom acoustical wood wall features. The Tree of Life anchors the interior of The Pearl in Charlotte, symbolizing growth, connection, and shared purpose. Its branching form carries through the space, reflecting the campus’s mission to unite healthcare, education, and innovation.

Working closely with the design team, Warco helped bring this vision to life through custom acoustical baffles, acoustical wood wall and ceiling panels, and curved architectural elements. Root-inspired lower levels ground the space in stability, while above, canopy-like ceilings open it up to growth and discovery. Each feature was carefully crafted to enhance both aesthetics and acoustical performance, reflecting the Tree of Life concept. A space designed to serve generations to come.

Next stop: TTX HQ

Inspired by the movement and geometry of the railroad, this custom ceiling design brings structure, dimension, and industrial character to the TTX workplace.

Layered materials, a track-inspired pattern, and integrated moss walls create a space that reflects both the infrastructure and landscapes connected by the freight rail industry. Inspired by TTX's work supporting the movement of goods across North America's rail network, the space feels dynamic and connected to its purpose.
