They buy before they build. They deploy before they prepare. They automate before they understand what they are even automating.
I work with small businesses, nonprofits, and public sector organizations across the Southeast who made that mistake and are now starting over. The tools were not wrong. The order was.
Here is the sequence that actually works:
โข First, look at your people. Where are they losing time every week on tasks that require no judgment? That is your automation map.
โข Second, look at your decisions. Where is bad data, missing data, or slow data costing you money, time, or credibility? That is your strategy map.
โข Third, look at your errors. Where does human mistake show up most in your workflow and what does it cost you each time it happens?
That is your priority list.
Now you know what to build. Now you go find the tools.
Most organizations skip straight to step four. They wonder why nothing sticks.
The sequence is not complicated. But someone has to walk you through it before you spend money on tools that solve problems you have not defined yet.
That is the work I do before anything else.
