That’s a wrap on Construction Inclusion Week 2026! 👷‍♀️🦺👷

Throughout the week, Rodgers team members and trade partners came together for toolbox talks, safety huddles, team breakfasts, conversations, and activities centered around this year’s theme, Opening Doors: Building a Workplace for Everyone.

From commitment and accountability to attracting and retaining talent, expanding economic opportunity, fostering belonging, and engaging our communities, the week reinforced the role each of us plays in building a stronger future for our industry.

Creating a culture where people feel supported, respected, and comfortable asking for help is essential to building strong teams.

Last week, Rodgers partnered with NAMI Charlotte to host the Workplace Wellness & Leadership Summit, bringing industry leaders together for important conversations around mental health, su***de awareness, psychological safety, and employee well-being. We were proud to join fellow industry sponsors DPR Construction, Gilbane Building Company, and Turner Construction Company in supporting this meaningful event.

During the event, Rodgers was honored to receive the 2026 NAMI Charlotte Wren Award, recognizing our commitment to mental health advocacy.

Rodgers is making progress on the Medical Center Surgical Services & Pediatric ED Expansion in Fayetteville, N.C!

This new 61,305-square-foot, three-story addition will expand surgical services and pediatric emergency care, helping meet the healthcare needs of the growing community!

Recent project highlights include:
🏥 Crews are completing key early-phase activities to prepare the site for construction of the main expansion.
⚡ Work is underway to reroute and upgrade electrical systems that will support the future facility expansion.
🚧 Demolition and site preparation activities continue as the team clears and readies the area for upcoming construction.
🚪 Construction of a new pediatric restroom and temporary entrance is underway to help maintain operations while future expansion work takes place.

Once complete, the project will add new operating and procedure rooms, expanded pre-op, PACU, and short-stay capacity, 24 pediatric exam rooms, a dedicated pediatric trauma room, and flexible shell space to support future growth.

We are proud to partner with Cape Fear Valley Health on this important project that will enhance access to quality healthcare for patients and families across the region.

Sunrise over Spencer Mountain marks another milestone at the future home of the CaroMont Health Cancer Center in Gastonia, NC. With site clearing and stripping complete, crews are preparing to begin mass grading for the 125,000-square-foot cancer center, scheduled for completion in Fall 2028.

Once complete, the facility will expand access to advanced cancer care, bringing comprehensive treatment, support services, and hope closer to home for patients and families across the region. 🌅🏗️

At Rodgers, we know that great builders come from many different backgrounds, and we celebrate the unique experiences and perspectives that each team member brings to our culture.

For Rodrigo "Doc" Llerena, Safety Manager, those experiences were shaped early on in a hardworking Mexican American family on Chicago’s South Side, where the values of perseverance, sacrifice, and service were passed down through generations. From working on family farms and apartment buildings to serving as a U.S. Navy Corpsman, Doc's journey has been defined by a commitment to helping others and protecting the people around him.

Over the past 18 years at Rodgers, Doc has combined his experiences from his upbringing with his medical training, military experience, and passion for people to help build stronger teams and create safer jobsites. For him, construction is about more than building structures. It's about building people, fostering a culture of safety, and making a meaningful difference when it matters most.
