That outdoor faucet drip may look minor, but deferred maintenance can waste water, increase utility bills, and allow moisture damage to develop around your home.
Before Charlotte’s cooler months arrive, inspect your exterior water systems. Check every outdoor hose bib and spigot for dripping when fully closed, worn washers, mineral buildup, corroded or loose hose connections, low water pressure, and weak flow. Also look for damaged or missing vacuum breakers.
Run each sprinkler zone and watch for misting, leaking, heads that fail to retract, pooling water around valves, or areas with weak pressure. These are signs that a small repair may be needed before the problem grows.
Your late-summer checklist: test each outdoor faucet, inspect hose connections, check every irrigation zone, drain and store hoses, and shut down or winterize irrigation as needed before colder weather arrives.
