After a week filled with installs, site visits, detailed specifications, client meetings, and countless decisions, I’m officially stepping away from the samples and job sites for the weekend.

As much as I love what I do, I’ve learned that creativity doesn’t always come from doing more. Sometimes it comes from slowing down. From taking a walk, spending time with family, sitting in the sunshine, or simply allowing yourself a moment to breathe.

The busy weeks and months are often where the magic happens, but it’s in the rest that we’re able to access fresh ideas, solve problems differently, and show up as our best selves for our clients.

This weekend, I’m choosing to recharge, and I hope our clients are doing the same—enjoying the homes we’ve worked so hard to create for them and making memories with the people they love.

I’d love to know—after a busy week or even a busy season, what do you do to recharge and refill your creative cup?

Happy weekend, friends. 🤍

One of my favorite ways to make a home work harder for a young family is to create seating that invites people to gather.

For these sweet clients, a custom banquette was the perfect solution. Not only does it maximize every inch of space, but it also provides so much more seating for family dinners, homework sessions, morning coffee, and friends dropping by. The result feels intimate, welcoming, and effortlessly functional.

And because real life happens here, every fabric was selected with durability in mind. Performance fabrics allow this space to look beautiful while standing up to everyday life with kids, guests, spills, and all the memories being made around this table.

Beautiful design should make life easier, not more stressful.

This bathroom tells a story—and that’s exactly why it’s one of my favorites from this project.

Our client had a beautiful vintage family furniture piece that held generations of memories, so instead of starting from scratch, we transformed it into the vanity. Designing around meaningful pieces always creates a home that feels collected rather than decorated.

The deep green zellige-inspired tile became the perfect backdrop, tying into the many shades of green woven throughout the home while adding depth and richness to the space. To ground it all, we used a stunning chevron marble floor that brings movement, texture, and a touch of timeless luxury.

Finished with a delicate French mirror and warm brass plumbing fixtures, every detail works together to create a bathroom that feels both elevated and deeply personal.

If you inherited a family piece, would you incorporate it into your home or start fresh?

Life changes, and sometimes your home deserves to evolve right alongside you.

For this custom renovation, our client was ready for a fresh chapter—and this foyer is setting the tone beautifully. We are wrapping the space in a stunning chinoiserie mural and grounded it with deeply saturated blue trim, doors, and millwork for a look that feels equal parts timeless and unexpected.

The contrast between the soft botanical scenery and the bold architectural framing creates exactly what every entry should: a memorable first impression.

Proof that a foyer doesn’t have to be loud to make a statement—it just has to tell a story.

The builder drew a bench. We designed a lifestyle.

This space had to work harder than a typical mudroom. Our clients needed a drop zone, hidden storage for a hand vac, broom, mop and cleaning supplies, a printing station, pantry access, and a beautiful transition from the garage into the primary suite vestibule.

The solution? We wrapped the room in warm white oak tongue-and-groove paneling, layered in custom cabinetry painted in a luscious soft green, and added one of my favorite features—a hidden pantry pass-through door. Now groceries go straight from the garage into the pantry without making a tour through the house.

It’s proof that the most successful spaces aren’t always the largest—they’re the ones designed around how people actually live.

And can we talk about this green for a minute? It quietly ties into the story of the rest of the home while adding just enough personality to make the space unforgettable.

It feels like yesterday we were packing lunches, helping with homework, cheering from the sidelines, and watching her grow into the incredible young woman she is today.

Sophia has worked hard, stayed true to herself, shown resilience, kindness, and determination along the way.

As parents, there is no greater privilege than watching your children become who they are meant to be. We are so proud of the person she has become. The future is bright, sweet girl. We love you and are so proud of you.

A well-designed home should feel like BOTH people live there.

In complete contrast to the bold personality of our Kings Mountain dining room and butlery, the primary bedroom was designed as a serene retreat—a space where two very different styles could coexist beautifully.

For him: clean lines, tailored silhouettes, and a modern foundation.

For her: layered textiles, soft drapery, thoughtful embellishments, and a chandelier that absolutely steals the show.

One of the most important parts of our process is creating spaces that reflect everyone who calls it home. Sometimes that means we’re designers. Sometimes we’re investigators uncovering what clients really NEED and want. Sometimes we’re therapists. And occasionally, we’re mediators helping two design visions find common ground.

The magic happens when neither person feels like they compromised—just understood.

TRUST!!! This dining room is one of those spaces that reminds me why trust is everything in custom home design.

When the husband and wife first brought me their builder plans, this room was a source of anxiety, especially for the wife. The footprint felt small, the ceilings felt too tall, and she simply couldn’t envision how this space could ever feel beautiful or inviting. In fact, her first instinct was to lower the ceiling and build a room above it.

I pushed back.

Dining/ping pong table:

Those soaring windows were one of the most beautiful architectural features of the entire home, and I knew that if we embraced the volume instead of fighting it, this room could become something truly special.

The first thing I changed was the entry. The original opening was just a standard passageway that did absolutely nothing for the room. By creating this oversized arched opening, the dining room became a destination—something the homeowners and every guest would experience the moment they entered the home.

From there, I designed simple but substantial wood beams to honor the husband’s clean, rustic aesthetic. We added architectural paneling with a high cap line to bring visual weight to the walls and help the room feel grounded despite its height.

The wife grew up in a Victorian home, and I wanted this room to feel like a subtle nod to her childhood. That’s where the custom-scaled vintage wallpaper came in. It brought history, personality, and softness to the architecture while feeling completely unique to their story.

Then came the color.

I fought hard for this rich blackberry aubergine shade. It was a huge leap of faith, especially for the husband. Deep, moody color wasn’t initially what either of them imagined for this space. But once it was on the walls, everything clicked. Today, i
