If you ever walk out in your yard and suddenly feel like Kevin Bacon in Tremors, you might have a problem!

No, the ground probably isn’t about to split open and unleash a giant creature… but a broken underground water line can saturate the soil until the grass is the only thing holding it together. One wrong step, and you could find yourself knee-deep in mud!

If your yard feels soft, spongy, or suspiciously squishy, don’t ignore it. Give us a call, and we’ll find the leak and get it fixed before it becomes an even bigger mess!

🚿💡 Most homes are built with a light in the shower… but you should never have a shower in your light! 😅

If water is dripping from a light fixture, don’t ignore it. It’s a sign something’s wrong, and it can quickly become a bigger problem.

Give Drain Express a call—we’ll find the leak and get it fixed before things get any wetter!

We know we need the rain around here, so we won’t complain! 🌧️

Between the intermittent torrential downpours, we waited for a few dry spells to get the job done. Today we cleaned all 12 manholes on this property as part of their regularly scheduled required maintenance.

Staying on top of routine maintenance helps keep everything flowing properly and can prevent costly issues down the road. Rain or shine, we’re here to keep your system working its best!

Another successful underground plumbing repair completed! 💪

This HOA had the cabinets, countertops, appliances, and flooring removed before we arrived so we could access the plumbing beneath the slab.

Our crew jackhammered the concrete floor to expose the original 2” cast iron kitchen drain, which had deteriorated beyond repair. We removed the failing pipe and replaced it with new PVC for a long-lasting, reliable solution.

To finish the job, we hauled away all of the broken concrete and contaminated soil, then backfilled the excavation with clean stone, leaving everything ready for the next phase of restoration.

When aging cast iron pipes fail, fixing the problem the right way means going straight to the source—not just treating the symptoms.

If you’re dealing with recurring drain problems, give Drain Express a call. We’re equipped to diagnose the issue and provide a permanent solution

Some plumbing problems take years to show themselves.

Today’s customer has lived in her home since it was built in 2007 and never experienced a drain issue until this year. Last week, we cleared the blockage by snaking the line, then followed up with a sewer camera inspection to find the root cause. Get it? “Root cause” just wait, you will.

The camera revealed tree roots had invaded the drain through a broken buried cleanout in the front yard.

To make the repair with minimal disruption, we used the hydro-vac to safely expose the pipe, removed the damaged section, and installed new PVC. Once everything was tested and working properly, we backfilled the excavation with stone and finished it with topsoil, leaving the yard ready to recover.

If you’re dealing with recurring drain backups, simply clearing the clog may not solve the problem. A camera inspection can pinpoint the exact cause and help prevent future issues.

🚿 A Simple Maintenance Tip That Could Add Years to Your Water Heater 🚿

Your water heater works hard every single day, but it’s one of the most overlooked pieces of equipment in your home or business.

Over time, calcium, minerals, and sediment build up inside the tank. That buildup can make your water heater work harder, increase energy costs, reduce hot water capacity, and eventually shorten the life of the unit.

The good news is that most manufacturers recommend flushing your water heater once a year to remove that buildup and help keep it running efficiently.

And it’s not just homeowners who should stay on top of this maintenance. Commercial properties need annual water heater service too. Today, our team flushed and serviced a pair of commercial water heaters in Charlotte, helping ensure reliable hot water while extending the life of both units.

Whether you have a traditional tank water heater or a tankless system, regular maintenance is one of the best ways to protect your investment and avoid unexpected breakdowns.

Don’t wait until you’re without hot water! Call Drain Express today to schedule your annual water heater maintenance and keep your system running at its best.

💧 A little preventive maintenance today can help prevent costly repairs or premature replacement tomorrow.

When underground utilities are everywhere, there’s no room for guesswork.

Before excavation, 811 markings showed a large concentration of underground utilities, so our crew used a hydro-vac to safely soft dig and expose the main water line serving an apartment complex here in Charlotte. This method allowed us to avoid damaging existing utilities while gaining access to the failing water main.

Once exposed, we found the original 1970s galvanized water line was barely hanging on and riddled with pinhole leaks. We removed the deteriorated section and replaced it with new 2” Schedule 40 PVC, restoring a reliable water supply to the complex.

After pressure testing every connection and confirming everything was leak-free, we backfilled the excavation with stone and finished it with topsoil, leaving the site clean and secure.

Another infrastructure problem solved safely, efficiently, and built to last.

📞 If your property is dealing with aging water or sewer lines, Drain Express has the experience and equipment to get the job done right.

This little project was all about making future maintenance faster and less disruptive.

Our crew removed an old cast iron combo and installed new cleanouts that provide access both toward the city’s main sewer and back toward the building’s drain beneath the slab. We finished the job by installing heavy-duty concrete meter boxes with rebar-reinforced composite lids and used approximately 900 pounds of stone to ensure a solid, long-lasting installation.

It’s not the kind of work you’ll ever see once it’s complete, but it’s the kind of work that makes a huge difference when service is needed down the road. Taking the time to do it right today can save countless hours and unnecessary excavation in the future.
