Hopefully, we won't have so many that we make it to Wilfred.
How does a hurricane impact your home? Besides tree limbs and the wind, the heavy rain can negatively impact your home. After the heavy rain and wind, the signs don’t always look like “foundation problems” right away. They show up as new cracks in the drywall, gaps appearing around trim or molding, bouncy or soft spots in the floor or even just water pooling near the foundation.
It’s not random. That’s your home and your crawl space reacting to moisture, drainage, and pressure shifts. Taking the time to investigate any issues is important. Getting ahead of crawl space problems is a lot easier than dealing with structural repairs later down the road they could have been avoided.
Save this before the next storm hits.
