This 10-foot-tall, 6-foot-wide custom pivot door weighs nearly 1,800 pounds and took five months to build. It pushed the limits of engineering, which meant planning for it before we ever broke ground.

Client: “We want a brand-new house… but the neighborhood won’t let us tear this one down without paying a massive fee.”

Keen Team: “Understood. We’ll just keep the address and find a work around.”

What began as an existing Lake Norman home became a spectacularly extensive and well executed transformation.

At this point, the difference between a renovation and new construction is mostly paperwork. We partnered with Smith Slovik | Charlotte Architectural Designers who maximized the usage of the large acreage of the lot and envisioned what this home could become.

Same address. Completely different home. 🎤

2 chadbourn st ocean isle beach. We wanted to do something different from the a traditional “beach box” that is so common on the Carolina coast. Unique architecture and materials helped bring that vision to life and we are now expanding on this concept across the island of Ocean Isle Beach.
