🏗️PROJECT SPOTLIGHT | NEW CONSTRUCTION DIVISION

Second Ward High School | Charlotte, NC

Queens Waterproofing & Restoration is proud to be part of one of our largest ongoing new construction projects, working alongside Rodgers Builders on the new Second Ward High School in Charlotte, NC.

Our team is responsible for delivering a comprehensive building envelope waterproofing package, utilizing high-performance materials manufactured by W. R. MEADOWS, INC. to help ensure long-term protection, durability, and watertight performance.

Our scope of work includes:

▪️ Below-grade cold fluid-applied waterproofing
▪️ Foundation dampproofing
▪️ Hot-applied waterproofing and paver systems
▪️ Full building envelope fluid-applied air barrier
▪️ Exterior joint sealants
▪️ Expansion joint systems

Project Progress 🚧

Our field crews are nearing completion of the below-grade cold fluid-applied waterproofing phase, and we look forward to advancing into the remaining building envelope systems as construction progresses.

Projects of this magnitude require strong coordination, quality workmanship, and attention to detail from start to finish.

UNC Charlotte | Building Envelope Repairs – Multiple Buildings 🏗️

Queen’s Waterproofing and Restoration, LLC. is proud to announce the successful completion of our UNC Charlotte Building Envelope Repairs – Multiple Buildings project.

Our original base-bid scope included building-envelope restoration across the Kennedy, Friday, and Storrs Buildings, including masonry restoration, concrete repairs, joint sealant replacement, EIFS repairs, flashing, and related envelope improvements.

What makes this project especially rewarding is what our team accomplished once construction was underway. Our base-bid work was completed in approximately 30 days, and during the project UNC Charlotte entrusted QWR with multiple additional change-order scopes, including:

* Stucco/EIFS reskimming at the Storrs Building
* Additional concrete repairs
* Full precast coating at the Friday Building
* Saw-cut control joints at the Friday Building

Despite the added scope, our field and management teams continued pushing forward and completed the project ahead of schedule while maintaining the level of quality we expect from QWR.

I’m extremely proud of our field team for the craftsmanship, safety, and effort they put into this project, and especially our Project Manager, Tyler, for keeping the project moving, coordinating the additional work, and delivering it successfully.

A big thank-you as well to Walter P Moore, the project engineer Peter White , and Attila Gergely, M.S., P.E. with UNC Charlotte for the communication and collaboration throughout the project.

Projects like this represent exactly what we continue building at Queens Waterproofing & Restoration — quality work, strong relationships, and a team capable of taking on complex building-envelope restoration projects from start to finish.

Another QWR Annual Fishing Trip in the books! 2026🎣🌊

This past week, our office staff and superintendents, along with their families, had the opportunity to spend a few days together in the Outer Banks.

From offshore fishing and beach days to cookouts, pool time, and simply enjoying each other’s company, it was a great opportunity to step away from the day-to-day and spend time together outside of work.

Queens Waterproofing & Restoration has experienced tremendous growth over the last several years. We’ve taken on larger and more challenging projects, expanded our team, and continued building a company that we’re extremely proud of.

But none of that happens without the people behind it.

Our office staff and superintendents carry a tremendous amount of responsibility throughout the year, and their families make sacrifices behind the scenes as well. This trip is one way for us to show our appreciation and recognize the people who continue helping move QWR forward.

We’ve come a long way, and we’re just getting started.

Thank you to our team and their families for another great year and another memorable trip.
Missing a few members of the team, but their hard work and contributions never go unnoticed.

Project Highlight: Trinity AME Zion Historic Restoration.
Location: Pinehurst, North Carolina

QWR is honored to showcase one of our ongoing projects in the beautiful town of Pinehurst. We were awarded the opportunity to help restore this historic church, and our scope of work includes:

- Masonry repairs
- Tuck-pointing
- Wood structural support and repairs
- Precast sill repairs and coatings
- Window wood frame repairs and coatings

We want to thank Walter P. Moore and Elizabeth Lyon, for the opportunity to be part of this amazing and challenging project along with our project manager, onsite superintendent, and field team, for their continued support and commitment to quality workmanship.

Project Highlight | Wrightsville Beach, NC

Full façade restoration underway at this coastal resort in Wrightsville Beach. Our scope includes complete building and parking deck wall coatings, balcony coating removal and replacement, plus floor, edge, and overhead concrete repairs.

Despite cold winter conditions, our team continues to deliver top-notch quality and consistency. Big shout-out to our field crews, PM, and General Superintendent for making it happen.

On track for completion for Spring 2026.

The team at Queen’s Waterproofing and Restoration, LLC. has successfully completed the demolition of a section of the brick facade to facilitate the installation of a buck hoist on. The Johnston Building, also referred to as Midtown Plaza, a 17-story office high-rise. Initially constructed as a 15-story building in 1924, it held the title of the tallest building in Charlotte until 1926. This historic site is set to become the new location for the Beckworth Hotel. We extend our gratitude to our project manager, superintendent, and field crew for their impeccable ex*****on of this project. Additionally, we appreciate the Cleveland Construction, Inc. team for their invaluable support throughout the process and We are eager to collaborate on the second phase and revive this historic landmark.

QWR is happy to share our latest Recoat Parking Deck Restoration project in the heart of Wilmington NC.

QWR was awarded the Market St, Parking deck restoration project from the city of Wilmington.
Our scope included the following.

•Remove all the old Deck coating in the top level and install new deck coating system.
•Remove and replace new expansion joint systems.
•Concrete Repairs.
•Joint Sealants.
•Epoxy Injections.
•Coatings.
•Corrosion Inhibitors.
