May Home of the Month: North Fork Long Island Modern Modular

Located in Riverhead, New York, this 2,000 sq ft home was designed to accommodate two families with an efficient I-shaped layout that balances shared living space and privacy.

Manufactured by Building Systems, the home was delivered in five modules to minimize site disruption while meeting the challenges of a sensitive waterfront location. A clean, coastal-modern aesthetic and open interior layout further enhance the design.

April 2026 MHBA Home of the Month: Two-Story Modular Home Rebuild After Fire Damage

This month’s featured home highlights the speed and flexibility of modular construction with a two-story rebuild manufactured by Signature Building Systems.

Located in North Caldwell, New Jersey, this 3,500 sq. ft., six-bedroom, 5.5-bath home was rebuilt after a fire in December 2023. With multiple generations living under one roof, the priority was to rebuild quickly without compromising quality or long-term durability.

By reusing the existing foundation and footprint, the project qualified as a reconstruction rather than new construction, avoiding a lengthy zoning process and saving an estimated 6 to 8 months. From initial meeting to move-in, the home was completed in approximately 10 months.

The layout was redesigned for modern, multigenerational living, featuring open gathering spaces, flexible bedrooms, and a finished basement, along with high-quality finishes throughout.
