🚨 WHAT IS IT WEDNESDAY 🚨

Introducing… Glowgrass 🌟

This rare lawn invader has started popping up across Southeast Tennessee—and yes, it actually glows at night.

👀 Signs you might have it:
• Bright neon green blades
• Slight shimmer at dusk
• Grows in clumps

Some homeowners say it looks cool…

…but it competes aggressively with your turf and can spread quickly in spring conditions.

👇 Have you seen this in your yard??

…

APRIL FOOLS 😄

No glowing grass (yet). But spring w**ds ARE starting to show up—and they won’t be nearly as pretty.

Now’s the time to protect your lawn before they take over.

🪲 What Is It Wednesday: Japanese Beetle Edition!

Say hello (or maybe not 😅) to the Japanese Beetle! These metallic green pests don’t just visit your yard—they use it as a full lifecycle feeding ground.

It all starts underground as grubs, where they feed on grassroots and damage your lawn from below. That means brown patches, thinning turf, and grass that lifts up like a loose carpet.

Then, as they mature into adult beetles, the damage moves above ground.

Japanese Beetles love to feed on the leaves of trees and shrubs, chewing between the veins and leaving behind that telltale “skeletonized” look. This stress can weaken your plants, impact growth, and take away from your landscape’s beauty.

💡 That’s why a complete approach matters:
✔️ Our Grub Control Program stops them early—before they damage your lawn
✔️ Our Tree & Shrub Program protects your plants from feeding damage, insects, disease, and fungus

From root to leaf, we’ve got your property covered.

Don’t let Japanese Beetles take over your lawn and landscape—reach out today and stay protected all season long!

What Is It Wednesday
These little guys might be hiding right under your feet…
White Grubs (Beetle Larva) 🐛

White grubs are the larval stage of beetles (like June bugs and Japanese beetles). They live in the soil and feed on grassroots, which can seriously weaken or kill your lawn.

A little about their life cycle:
Adult beetles lay eggs in the soil during summer. Those eggs hatch into grubs, which feed on your lawn’s roots through late summer and fall. They’ll burrow deeper over winter, then come back up in spring for one more round of feeding before turning into beetles and starting the cycle all over again.

How to tell if they’re in your lawn:
• Brown patches that won’t bounce back
• Grass feels spongy or lifts up like carpet
• Increased birds or critters digging around

If you’re seeing the signs, your roots could be under attack

Something’s fishy… lawns around here keep getting greener 🌱🐟

🌱 What Is It Wednesday?

Did this w**d pop up in your lawn? It might be Broadleaf Plantain — a very common lawn w**d here in Tennessee.

🔎 How to identify it:
• Wide, oval-shaped leaves that grow in a flat circle close to the ground
• Thick, string-like veins running from the base of the leaf to the tip
• Tall skinny seed stalks that stick up above the grass like little antennas

💡 Fun fact:
Broadleaf plantain often shows up in compacted or clay-heavy soil. When soil gets dense, turfgrass roots struggle to grow, but tough w**ds like plantain can thrive.

Seeing a lot of this in your yard? Your soil may be trying to tell you something.

Call us if you’d like more info about our soil enrichment program and how improving soil health can help your lawn grow thicker and naturally crowd out w**ds.

And if you’re not sure what’s popping up in your lawn, drop a photo in the comments — we might feature it in the next What Is It Wednesday! 👀🌱
