Well, this part is officially done.

All fifty independent bookstores are now engraved on the plaque I’m giving my dad. I’ve seen these names hundreds of times over the past few months in emails, pictures, Facebook messages, and lists on my computer. Seeing all fifty of them permanently engraved into the wood feels completely different.

I keep looking down the list and remembering something about each part of the project. There were stores that responded almost immediately. There were states that took a little more work. There were bookstores that sent pictures, wrote kind notes, shared the story, or simply said they would be happy to help. Fifty different stores in fifty different states all agreed to become a small part of something I wanted to do for my dad.

And now their names are permanent.

Little Professor’s Bookstore in Alabama. Fireside Books in Alaska. Quail Run Books in Arizona. All the way down to Wind City Books in Wyoming. Fifty stores that probably never expected their names to end up together on a plaque in northern Michigan.

At the top are the words that have been attached to this project from the beginning:

One Book. Fifty States. One Tribute.

I think Dad is going to like this.

Kiefer Handi Works sponsored the 2nd annual Beach Volleyball Tournament supporting the HS Seniors for their Class of 2027 Senior Lock In.

Congrats to the winners!
First place trophy keychains for both the HS division and the adult division were designed and donated by KHW!

Job well done on all those that organized this event and many thanks to others who participated in a team, donated time, donated supplies, and gave monetary donations.

3D printing and laser etching class was a success! Jaxson and Ally had a great time learning and brought home many personalized projects! They were great students, highly energized to learn, and quickly caught on to the design programs.

If anyone else is interested in taking this class please reach out and let us know. We can personalize it to your current knowledge and abilities of the programs.
