Do what you love and you’ll never work a day! Dan can hardly contain himself today with working next to the bridge…tearing down an old cottage and staking out for the new one! Last one for 2025 and will plan to keep the guys busy for the winter! Incredibly grateful for his health, energy and vision to build.

We always have so much fun visiting that I forget to take photos! I finally remembered this time when we visited this gorgeous house we completed in summer of 2024 in Mackinaw City…part of a dream come true for Dan to be building on Lake Michigan. Bonus we made beautiful friends 🩷💙

Moving right along up here in and around Cheboygan County. Finished up this cottage on Lake Huron/Ocqueoc and started one on Lake Huron/Cheboygan and another one on Lake Huron/Millersburg…all off 23 and within half hour from home. We Also started a pole barn on Mullet Lake that will add a house to the property next year. Next start for the fall/ winter will be back in Mac City for our second home on Lakeside Dr. We love building nice homes for nice people and will keep doing the ‘Happy-Dance’ as long as it makes us happy! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all the past, present and future client/turned friends. 😊

There has been a lot of firsts for us over the last three years with closing our 7 Mile, Lake City doors and moving to Chebygan to enjoy our new home on Lake Huron.

Today we had wall panels delivered to our first house beginning on the lanes off 23. This one is on Lane 1 …how appropriate is that to start on lane 1? We are very excited watching Dan’s dream business gain speed in the area he’s always dreamt of building. He completed a house in Mac City in June on Lake MI and now he’s on Lake Huron. Beyond and incredibly grateful to be here, be of good health and energy and be able to get our business back up and rolling strong.

Moving on to the Crystal Mtn area in Thompsonville boasting a view of the mountain. This job began in Jan 2020 and was shut down to resume official construction May 8. We were able to go behind the scenes and get it closed in from the elements before they guys were forced to go home. Dan included several pics that describe his feelings about all that; which I’m only showing a few 😉. MI Gov may have slowed the process and progress of our ‘small’ business; but fortunately not the enthusiasm of Dan or our guys. Building in MI winters is alway a challenge of sorts; however, with all his years of construction Dan still claims he wouldn’t want to work or live anywhere else...he just keeps rolling on. This house is approx 1800 square feet with bonus above the garage and a finished garage. Lots of perks on the end finishings by the home owner that will make this a gorgeous home for these great people...we really do only build for great people! I added a couple of pics of the pups, few of the many exc orders we had to wade through and fun with the guys.

What a super busy year so far and so much more to do!! The down side is I forget to update posts for the houses. This totally impressive 6000 +/- square foot house including the upper and lower levels, leaves me speechless every time I’m there. We had it ready to go and got shut down so began the actual build as soon as MI was released for construction work around the first of May. For the size of it, five months later the windows are going in so not too bad for staying on schedule. It’s being built in Kalkaska County; which, for us is a real treat to be so close to the office. I asked Dan for pics that he may have that I didn’t have and he dropped me 62 pics. Bare with the me as I try to put them in somewhat of an order for you. I am completely awe struck at how Dan just wades in to start on a new project, puts it together one stage at a time and ends up with a gorgeous home every time no matter big or small. His passion for design build shows! ❤️

There is some Beautiful building going on in northern lower MI and gratefully we have our share of it. A couple of weeks ago we were finally able to dig this house located just south of Kalkaska and it’s coming along nicely. Once again we hit the jackpot with building for some of the nicest people!

DRUM ROLL... for Castles & Cabins 100th house that we pulled occupancy on last month! This is such a beautiful home designed with total custom requests from the clients that were fabulous ideas! Dan was especially excited to be the designer of a house unlike all others and then to have it end up as the 100th house built by Castles & Cabins put it over the top. Love these people and love the beautiful wooded area they chose to build in near Lake Ann making breathtaking views on all three levels. We are so grateful to have once again, walked away with friends. ❤️

I have no words to describe the elation Dan and I felt this past weekend when we hosted a 100th House Celebration in our backyard honoring the people that helped us get there. Yes, Dan pulled occupancy on his 100th house and is mid way on his 103rd already. Clients that easily moved in to being some of our best friends graciously allowed us to be a part of their dream home and last Saturday 72 of them helped us celebrate the milestone. We were so excited to have 37 homes represented in our backyard! We have always liked people we build for; however, as they walked up to us several years later, we both said that we realized that we actually love our people we build for...they are family by choice and very, very special to us. We thank them with deepest appreciation for the years of joy they have brought to us. Our hearts are full ❤️

I apologize; however, I am grateful at the same time that I’ve been so busy I haven’t had a chance to post the Torch Lake house once it was finished. This is the house you can find a few pics back, that challenged Dan with all the pilings drilling 25’ down to build up from a solid foundation. We were privileged to return to this stunning home last week so I snapped a few pics to share.
