Had a surprise doing an inspection on a wasp call.. although cute, it’s not something you want living in your attic. Flying squirrels will chew wires and wood, tear insulation for nests, and can create “latrines “that can stain ceilings!

After identifying the main entry point on this squirrel job, I replaced the tattered screens and reinforced all possible entry points with much stronger galvanized 1/4 in hardware cloth. Leaving the last/main entry point open to attach a trap.

Got a call for squirrels in the attic, the customers had already tried their own live traps and couldn’t locate an entry point. Took me awhile, but finally found how they’re getting in.. Had a call for sugar ants in the kitchen. The homeowner told me he killed a black widow in the garage last week.. not uncommon to find one here or there, but in a house with 7 young children we don’t want any around.

During my exterior treatment I located and killed over 40 black widows (33 pictured) and more then half of them were guarding eggs.. This an extreme case, but this house isn’t even 2 years old!
