Had a customer today who recently had a pool put in, the excess dirt was spread throughout his yard and now the rain is running into his crawl space flooding underneath his house. The yard needs to be graded properly but it is to wet right now for that. 2 hours later we had a temporary catch basin made and in the ground, with holes in the side to pull saturated water from underneath the house, and a sump pump sending water to the street when the the basin fills. This is not the permanent solution and was built with things laying around the shop to keep the cost down. Still, it is working perfectly, the crawl space is drying out and we'll fix the grading when the ground drys out enough for the heavy equipment to operate. These scenarios have no manual for them, they test your wit and ability, and are absolutely why I love what we do!!
