We are setup with 1-800-BoardUp of Virginia Beach at Pleasure House Brewing for our annual Brews for the Bravest fundraiser. If you’re in the Virginia Beach area, you know the weather is bad, so stop by and help support us in our mission to help our brothers and sisters battling cancer

This past Saturday our Spring “Brews for the Bravest Brewing Team” reconvened at Pleasure House Brewing and brewed our latest charity beer. It was a great regional effort with active and retired members from the Virginia Beach Fire Department, Chesapeake Fire Department, Norfolk Fire Rescue, Suffolk Fire Department, the ATF, and of course Fed Fire.

Besides brewing the beer, another fun part of our job is coming up with a name for it. The group didn’t take any time to unanimously decide that our Irish Red Ale would be named “Chevy Red” Irish Red Ale in honor of VBFD Captain Matt "Chevy" Chiaverotti, who passed away just over a year ago in the line of duty from thyroid cancer. It is very fitting that the proceeds from “Chevy Red” will go to Vigilant Watch and the Firefighter Cancer Support Network. 1-800-BoardUp of Virginia Beach is proud to sponsor this event that benefits these awesome organizations that support public safety members and their families dealing with cancer.

Our “Chevy Red” Irish Red Ale will be released at Pleasure House Brewing on 5/18 at an event from 1-4P. See the flyer below and please help us get the word out. I hope to see everyone there!

1-800-BoardUp of Virginia Beach was proud to sponsor this year's Guns N Hoses Hockey Event in Norfolk, VA benefitting our great friends at Vigilant Watch.

Vigilant Watch, Inc. is a non-profit organization providing support to our regional public safety officials, active duty or retired, and their immediate families, who have suffered a hardship based on injury, illness, or catastrophic event, which has created a financial or physical hardship.

We also want to congratulate TEAM FIRE for their hard-won 3-2 win versus the Enforcers. Great job to all for a really great cause!
