Quick weekend project, big transformation 🔨👷‍♂️We built this custom pergola off our client’s shed, carefully matching the roof slope for a clean, cohesive look. The goal was simple — create a covered space for the golf cart without having to store it inside the garage.

This build features a gable roof with asphalt shingles, drip edge, and step flashing for a finished look and added protection. To match the existing slope and still allow enough clearance for the golf cart, the front side had to be built taller than the back. Framing on the back and side will be coming soon.

5-hour redeck refresh ✅

We sistered all the joists, added blocking, and replaced the deck boards on the lower deck. Reattached/replaced balusters as needed, swapped a few stair deck boards, sistered 2x4s on the steps, and replaced a 2x4 for the balusters.

This quick fix gets them safely through the next couple months for a baby shower — then we’re coming back this summer to replace the whole deck. 🔨👶🎉

350+ sq ft bathroom remodel update 🚿🔥

Since the last video, we (Kangas Contracting) have been dialing in all the details — added blocking in the walls for the wainscoting panels + trim, framed out the steam shower, sloped the shower ceiling, framed the shower bench + niche, and installed the bathtub frame. 💪

Huge shoutout to the team making this one come alive:
✅ Burt Drywall & Plaster LLC — drywall throughout the bathroom + cement board on the tub frame
✅ BP Tile & Stone — self leveler, Ditra heated floor system, limestone herringbone tile, and Schluter waterproofing in the shower
✅ Wood Classics — installed the custom-made vanity (vanity towers are coming soon 👀)

🚿 350 SQ FT Bathroom Remodel — Week 1 Update! 💥

We’re officially underway on this massive primary bath transformation and Week 1 is all about the gritty stuff: ✅ demo is done and we’re wrapping up plumbing rough-in + electrical rough-in.

Meanwhile, we knocked out the secondary bathrooms too 👇
✨ fresh paint
✨ new countertops
✨ new light fixtures
✨ new vanity hardware
✨ new sink faucets
✨ new exhaust vents
✨ new mirrors
✨ and a new shower glass door in one bath

We completed this transformation for our Airbnb a little over a year ago – framing and installing the new ceiling, walls, pipes, and flooring, adding fresh paint and cedar trim for warmth, and framing out a secure storage closet with a keypad lock 🔐

From unfinished to functional + polished – this basement is still serving guests beautifully 🙌

Fresh foundation, same boards ✌️ We rebuilt the deck’s base, power washed the existing composite, and gave it a brand-new look. Bonus: solved drainage by piping the gutter beyond the fence—no more pooling 💧

Only challenges: rebuilding the foundation to line up with the existing screw holes, and re-leveling the ground so no joist or beam touches soil. Worth it. 🛠️♻️
