Role Description The Lead Installer is a full-time, on-site role based in Chester, SC, and surrounding areas, responsible for overseeing and performing the installation of residential and light commercial HVAC systems. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing work orders and plans, assessing job sites, installing and connecting equipment, ductwork, and controls, and ensuring systems meet safety, code, and manufacturer standards. The Lead Installer will coordinate and guide installation team members, delegate tasks, and provide on-the-job training to support quality and efficiency. This role also involves communicating with customers and supervisors, documenting work completed, troubleshooting installation issues, and maintaining tools, vehicles, and materials in good working order. The Lead Installer is expected to follow all safety procedures and represent the company professionally at all times.
Qualifications
Strong HVAC installation knowledge, including experience with furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, and control systems.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals, with solid mechanical and technical aptitude.
Proficient in using hand and power tools safely, with a focus on precise measurements, assembly, and system startup procedures.
Leadership skills to supervise and mentor installation team members, delegate tasks, and maintain productive job sites.
Effective communication skills for interacting with customers, teammates, and supervisors, and for completing clear service documentation.
Commitment to safety practices, adherence to local codes and regulations, and attention to detail in workmanship and quality control.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; ability to work on-site in varying weather conditions and lift moderate to heavy equipment.
Prior HVAC installation or service experience; relevant certifications or technical training (e.g., EPA 608, HVAC trade school) are beneficial.
