The level of widespread destruction and displacement left by Hurricane Melissa—the strongest storm ever to hit Jamaica—is truly heartbreaking. The media coverage hasn't begun to capture the reality.
We were some of the lucky ones: our home survived with minimal damage, and our family is safe. We are giving thanks and paying it forward by helping how we can. This trip was short, but we managed to repair badly damaged roofs and rebuild a side wall for two local homes and even give some attention to some goats
Amidst the rubble, the incredible resilience of the Jamaican people shines through. This is still our beautiful home away from home.
