🚨 EXPOSED: Air Duct Cleaning SCAM Caught on Camera! | The TRUTH NADCA & Jodi Araujo Ignores

In this video, we expose a local air duct cleaning company caught red-handed using false advertising and bait-and-switch tactics—claiming they are the only NADCA-certified company in the area, which is a blatant lie.

⚠️ This is the exact kind of deceptive marketing that misleads homeowners and gives our industry a bad name. While companies like this go unchecked, NADCA (National Air Duct Cleaners Association) has shockingly chosen to turn a blind eye—failing to enforce their own ethics code. Instead, they've targeted HYPER, the company actually doing the work to protect consumers and expose the truth.

We’ve been proudly certified and featured on Fox 2 News for taking a stand against these scams. Our only mission is to bring honesty, transparency, and unmatched quality to indoor air quality services.

Air Duct Cleaning Scams Exposed: The Truth Behind $45 Coupons

Disclaimer: I know I mentioned in this video that the coupon company charges $150, but that was my mistake. The coupons actually say $45. The key takeaway here is the bait and switch tactics that these companies use. So, please ignore the pricing numbers I threw out; I was just using them as examples. The coupon in the video is from a local company here in St. Louis.

In this video, I take you behind the scenes of the air duct cleaning industry and expose the common scams tied to $45 coupon deals. These "too good to be true" offers often come with hidden fees, upcharges, and shoddy service that can end up costing you far more in the long run.

Why Blower Motor Cleaning is ESSENTIAL During Air Duct Cleaning | Mold Mitigation System Restoration

In this eye-opening video, we break down the real reason why blower motor cleaning is not optional—it’s absolutely essential during any professional air duct cleaning service.

This particular job highlights a blower motor completely contaminated with mold. It was so seized and gunked up that we had to use a blower motor puller just to free the shaft from the squirrel cage. This is not a DIY job—this level of restoration requires real tools, real skill, and real knowledge.

But here's the truth: if your duct cleaner skips the blower motor and coil, what’s the point of even cleaning the ducts?

In this project, we went all in:

Complete blower motor breakdown and decontamination

Mold mitigation inside the HVAC system

Air duct sanitization

Professional duct sealing — reduced air leakage from 43.9% to under 3%

Encapsulation of the ductwork to prevent mold regrowth

That’s a 92.5% system improvement—and that means a cleaner, healthier, and more efficient home.

He Paid $1,000 for a Duct Cleaning… and Got Scammed.

This is one of those stories that hits home. Our client, a 66-year-old disabled retiree on Social Security, trusted the same heating and cooling company for 25+ years. After paying them $1,000 cash for a duct cleaning due to worsening allergies and breathing issues, he felt something wasn’t right. The company not only ignored his concerns—they eventually blocked his calls altogether.

Four months later, he contacted HYPER. When I arrived, it was immediately clear: the ductwork hadn't been touched. Trash, tack strips, construction debris, even toys and mold were still inside. His indoor air quality was dangerously bad—his PM2.5 levels were around 400 µg/m³ (that’s nearly 400 times higher than healthy levels).

We documented the entire emergency cleaning in this video. After a full restoration, his air quality dropped to below 1 µg/m³. That’s real change. That’s HYPER.

⚠️ If you’ve had your ducts cleaned recently and still feel something’s off—especially if it was from a coupon company or Facebook ad—contact us. We offer honest inspections and air quality testing so you can breathe with confidence.

'Rotobrush' was the tool used by the company that ripped this homeowner off. You can watch my complete Rotobrush equipment review here: https://youtu.be/0ae9R_LfIfg?si=H1wu7NOZnNpRkK94

The Personal Story Behind HYPER - A Father's Mission for Clean Air

Hey guys, Mitch here with HYPER!

Nearly 16 years ago, my twin daughters were born at just 23 weeks, weighing only 1 lb. 3 oz. each. Doctors gave them only a 5% chance of survival. The odds were against us, but by the grace of God, they pulled through. It was a tough road—full of ups and downs—but today, they’re thriving in high school.

During that terrifying time, I was just a concerned father looking for ways to improve the air quality in my home for when my daughters were finally released from the NICU at St. John’s (now Mercy). That search led me to an industry that, to my surprise, lacked true professionals and experts. That’s when my journey began.

What started as a personal mission to create a healthier home for my children grew into HYPER—a company dedicated to setting the standard for air duct cleaning.

So remember, when you do business with HYPER, it's your family doing business with my family—and that makes you family.
