I pulled out the sewing machine today… I used Printify to print this fabric with my logo but it’s sat for a while. I ironed it, added batting and backing and started quilting it today. It’s felt good to sew. Hope to see you Saturday at Victoria's Bakery!

FINALLY got a picture of the Belted Kingfisher!! 😃 I’ve seen and heard this guy for years but he’s too quick and doesn’t sit for long… until today! I was taking a lunch break and so was he! I looked out at the river and noticed his white neck against the green. I’m looking forward to painting this and adding it to the 3 other kingfishers in my collection.

Originals I’m bring with me to the Backyard Bizarre market in two weeks at Victoria's Bakery. 😬 😊 In order, a Northern Mockingbird, Dalmatian Pelican, Short Eared Owl, Tufted Jay, Common Loon and Northern Emerald Toucanet. I was mat hesitant on the Mockingbird because that is one of the first pieces where I really tried not to use white and carefully@not paint in places instead. Is it called negative painting? Maybe? 🤔 😊 Each piece is signed and dated on the back and initialed on the front. Thanks for your support! ❤️

Chirp Nook - so true! I took it a step further - bird painting! So thankful to have found birding and then painting them as a way to clear (and calm) my mind.

Ruby-throated hummingbird, watercolor on paper. I took this photo in my yard almost 10 years ago, knowing I’d paint it eventually. What I didn’t realize was that my interest in birds would grow and I’d start painting with watercolor (I used to hate it and avoid it at all costs)
