We had an absolute blast sponsoring the Sunset Hill County Park Trunk or Treat this weekend!

It was great getting out into the community to see all the incredible, creative costumes. While we love seeing little ghouls, ghosts, and "critters" out collecting candy, the real-life woodland creatures shouldn't be trick-or-treating in your home!

As the weather cools down, local wildlife like raccoons, bats, and squirrels are hunting for a warm place to nest. If your attic or crawlspace is starting to look like a haunted house filled with uninvited guests, give us a call! We will safely humanely evict them so you can enjoy a peaceful, spooky-free season.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table, grabbed some treats, and chatted with our team!

While you're putting up your Halloween decorations this weekend, take a quick look around your roofline, fascia boards, and crawlspace vents.

Fall is peak season for wildlife like squirrels, raccoons, and bats to force their way into homes to escape the upcoming winter chill. A hole as small as a dime is all a bat needs, and a determined raccoon can easily tear through damaged shingles.

If you spot an entry hole or hear unexplained noises, don't wait until it becomes a real nightmare. Let our experienced professionals handle the eviction safely and humanely.

As the autumn air rolls in, our local wildlife goes into overdrive to prepare for the freezing months ahead. If you’ve noticed a spike in critter activity around your property lately, here's what’s happening in nature right now:
• Animals like squirrels, raccoons, and chipmunks are in "hyperphagia"a state of extreme eating. They are frantically gathering acorns, hickory nuts, and seeds to pack on winter fat and build their hidden food caches.
• Tree squirrels, flying squirrels, and bats are actively scouting out warm, sheltered spots to ride out the cold. Unfortunately, this means they are looking for entry points into your warm attics, chimneys, and walls.
• Local mammals are finalizing their winter dens in brush piles, hollow logs, or underneath porches and decks.

While it’s fascinating to watch these creatures prepare for winter, you don't want them doing it inside your home!
If you suspect a furry neighbor has already decided to move in with you this autumn, don't wait for the winter freeze give us a call!

Ever wonder what a professional attic restoration looks like? Check out our co-owner Conor, completely suited up and ready to tackle a bat guano cleanup project.

When bats invade your attic, they leave behind hazardous droppings that present severe health risks like Histoplasmosis, a dangerous respiratory disease caused by fungal spores in the guano. Because of this, DIY cleanup is never worth the risk.

They might look cute and chubby waddling across your yard, but groundhogs (also known as woodchucks) are actually "vegetarian tanks" that can wreak havoc on your property. If you have one living under your porch, shed, or foundation, you aren't just dealing with a missing tomato from your garden.

Here is what these powerful diggers can actually cause:

Structural damage: A single groundhog burrow can stretch over 40 feet long and sit 5 feet deep. Moving that much dirt can cause decks to sag, patios to collapse, and foundations to crack.

Yard hazards: Deep entry and exit holes create dangerous tripping hazards for children, pets, and livestock.

Unwanted roommates: Abandoned groundhog burrows are an open invitation for skunks, foxes, and opossums to move right in.

What is maternal bat season?

Every spring, female bats form communal groups called "maternity colonies" to give birth and raise their young (called pups). The season runs from mid-June to mid-August

Why can't they be removed?
Baby bats can't fly: Pups are born flightless and are completely dependent on their mothers for 25 to 37 days.

The danger of trapping: If an exclusion device is installed now, the adult mothers can leave to hunt, but the flightless babies get trapped inside. Without their mothers, they will starve and die within your walls, attic or chimney.

Home damage: Trapped bats create a major hazard for your home, causing terrible odors, attracting insects, and creating sanitation issues.

What you should do right now: Don't panic! The bats just want a warm, safe place to raise their families for a few weeks.

CALL US EARLY: You can still book an inspection with us right now. We will inspect for entry points and build a removal plan so you are first on the schedule when the restriction lifts.

Great review from Johnnie H.... "Great job! From the moment Connor pulled up in the driveway he let me know exactly what I needed to know, how it was gonna happen when it was gonna happen and he made sure I understood everything. Any more uninvited pest show up in my property, I’m calling Shamrock."
