Another rainy day today, but I managed to finish my new sunflower strip with mulch! Also got canna lily bulbs from my coworkers planted in the other little strip, and my lilacs are poppin!

This weird, Jurassic Park looking beauty is called a Crown Imperial (Fritillaria imperialis). Itā€™s in the lily family and native to West Asia. I wish I bought more than one bulb! Iā€™m excited to start seeing the bulbs I planted last fall starting to come up and bloom!

In an effort to work off some Easter calories (and because Iā€™m trying new things this year!) yesterday I got some planting done outside. I went through my seeds I wanted to try this year and picked out the things that said they were the most frost hardyā€¦ and here we go! Canā€™t wait to try some new varieties.
