Our Culture and Events Committee planned our April Giving Initiative around Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC)!
As a team, we were able to pack 48 grab-and-go meal kits for the families at our local House near Lurie Children’s Hospital. These meal kits provide families with all the essentials they need so that they can spend more time by their child's side.

Like many others around the world, we have been watching the devastating and heartbreaking events occurring in Ukraine over the past week. We salute those brave citizens who are defending their country’s values, democracy, and freedom, including those who have lost their lives in the process. All of us here at REX stand with the people of Ukraine and are directing all our thoughts and prayers towards the well-being and safety of both the civilian population and those on the ground fighting against this horrific invasion.

On this day in 1945, the Alaskan State Government signed into law the Anti-Discrimination Act of 1945. This law, pioneered by Alaskan Natives fighting against the segregation and discrimination they experienced in their native homelands, was the first of its kind to pass in the United States and set the standard for equal rights across the rest of the country.

Today, we celebrate Elizabeth Peratrovich, the woman whose courageous and persistent efforts were instrumental in the passing of this anti-discrimination law. February 16th has been established as Elizabeth Peratrovich Day for her “courageous, unceasing efforts to eliminate discrimination and bring about equal rights in Alaska.” Her advocacy for the equal rights of all Alaskan Natives has paved the way for Alaskan Native Corporations, including our parent company Chugach Alaskan Corporation.

Here at REX, we’re proud to celebrate and support our Alaskan Native ties every day through our hard work and dedication to our craft.

🚨JOBSITE ALERT🚨

REX is in the middle of a very cool project based in North Chicago, Illinois. This massive space, approximately 75k square feet, will serve as an educational healthcare facility meant to enhance diagnostic, procedural, and communication skills while on the job. On the eleventh day of REXmas, we’re reminding you to watch out for your furry friends!

We know how much your pets mean to you and your family. Help keep them, and the rest of your family, safe by keeping all cords and lights out of reach. Even the slightest nibble on an electrical cord can cause a short that can create a dangerous fire hazard. Be sure to keep an eye on your pets and make sure they’re not getting into your decorations to ensure the safest holiday possible.

Today’s topic has a very simplistic piece of advice; when it comes to lighting up your house, don’t be a Clark Griswold! Overloaded outlets are a common issue when it comes to the holiday season.
