Yesterday, members of the team joined President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama and nearly 500 supporters and contributors for a celebration ahead of the ’s grand opening this Friday!

It was incredibly meaningful to gather with some of the many people who have worked on this project at every stage and celebrate the journey we’ve shared over the years. would not be here today without this driven group of leaders, and we’re so grateful for the opportunity to honor our work on this project together.

In June 2024, the Museum of the reached its full height. To commemorate this significant milestone, President Obama joined on site to sign a beam that was later installed in the Sky Room Ceiling. Now, our team has their legacy permanently etched into this new landmark alongside the President’s.

Two years and countless achievements later, is getting ready to hang up our hard hats and open the doors to the . Opening day is just 15 days away — we can’t wait to see you there!

public, and you’re invited to join in on the fun!

On June 18, the Obama Foundation Foundation is hosting an official watch party of the Center’s dedication at Midway Plaisance Park just a few blocks away from the site. Can’t attend the official watch party? Tune into the livestream of the ceremony from wherever you are!

For opening weekend starting June 19, check out the Foundation’s weekend-long celebration welcoming guests and neighbors for live music, food, art and storytelling across the Center’s campus. It will be a great chance to take in ’s hard work and explore our new park space, the new Chicago Public Library branch, community gardens and more!
