Advocate Health Care is building a 40-bed hospital at 8000 S. DuSable Lake Shore Drive in South Chicago. The facility will replace the 205-bed Trinity Hospital, located about three miles away at 2320 E. 93rd St. in Calumet Heights.

Taylor Electric Company is a proud subcontractor on this project and looking forward to building on the south side of Chicago.

The new 40-bed hospital, set to open in 2029 as part of the Quantum Shore megadevelopment, will replace the existing 205-bed Trinity facility.

Last week Tony attended the National Electrical Contractors Association - NECA Safety Professionals Conference in Atlanta, GA. As our new Vice President of Safety and Maintenance Operations Tony is always focused on learning more so we can ensure on every jobsite, as well as in the office and warehouse.

Last month was Christmas in April for the
International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 134.

Every year they donate their time and talents to helping residents in need with the non-profit Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago.

Our electricians replaced outlets, fixed light switches, and repaired fuse boxes for those in need to make their homes safe.

TECares, NFP hosted Chicago Women in Trades (CWIT) participants to learn about day in the life of an electrician at our offices.

In addition to blueprint reading and a pipe and wire demo, there was a panel discussion of women in the industry. Women who served as a President, Vice President, Estimator, Project Manager, retired electrician and three apprentices answered questions and gave insight on working in the electrical industry.

Thanks to Colony Hardware for providing gift bags with safety classes for our guests.

TECares, NFP hosted Chicago Women in Trades (CWIT) participants for a half day in our offices to learn what electricians do.

Through a pipe and wire demonstration (co-taught by a retired electrician and two apprentices who graduated from CWIT), the women learned how to bring power to an outlet and a lightbulb.
