Installed in 2024, this native garden needed a little extra protection early on, so the client added temporary wire fencing to keep rabbits from browsing the tender new plants. The planting has now filled in beautifully and is becoming much more resilient.
We’ll be discussing whether it’s time to remove the fencing altogether, or possibly leave protection around the shrubs for one more winter. The rabbits are always nearby, but once a native planting is established, it can handle some browsing and continue pushing out fresh new growth from strong root systems. 🌱🐇

Monthly stewardship helps native gardens establish, evolve, and thrive over time 🌿
Regular visits allow us to manage weeds early, guide plant growth, monitor seasonal changes, and support long-term garden health while keeping the design looking intentional and dynamic.
