Happy Father's Day Weekend from O'Hara's Son Roofing Company (OSR)!

This Father's Day weekend, we celebrate the dads, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures who make a difference every day.

One of the most important things we can pass on to the next generation is the importance of safety. Whether at work or at home, the example we set matters.
Recently, our Safety Director, Santiago Leiton, shared a photo of his son proudly wearing a hard hat after he got home from work. It was a simple reminder that our kids are always watching, learning, and looking up to us.
At OSR, safety is more than a rule. It is a commitment to ourselves, our teammates, and the families waiting for us at home.
To all the fathers and father figures, thank you for everything you do both on and off the job.

We hope you have a safe and enjoyable Father's Day weekend.

Safety Spotlight: Lydia Bryant, Safety Coordinator

At O'Hara's Son Roofing Company (OSR), safety is built on strong relationships, thoughtful planning, and a commitment to helping others succeed. Lydia Bryant, our Safety Coordinator, brings all of those qualities to her role every day.

With a background in human services, Lydia has spent the last three years helping build and strengthen OSR's safety programs from the ground up. When she is not supporting our field teams, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, including her husband, Ben, and their two children, Walter and Juliet.

**How would you describe your approach to safety?**
"Plan your work ahead, understand the hazards, and communicate with your team."
Lydia believes safety starts long before work begins. Planning ahead means having the right tools, PPE, and a clear understanding of the work to be performed. Open communication helps ensure everyone is on the same page, feels comfortable speaking up, and looks out for one another.

**What is one critical safety topic every worker should know?**
Fall prevention activities.
Falls remain one of the most common and serious risks in construction and roofing. Every worker should understand how and when to inspect their gear, properly use barriers and tie-off points, and identify fall hazards before work begins.

**In a high-pressure situation, what is the first thing you focus on to keep everyone safe?**
Stop. Assess. Act.
Stop and breathe. Secure the scene and remove immediate hazards. Assess the situation, check for injuries, and call for help. Then take action by providing aid or contacting emergency responders.

Thank you, Lydia, for helping build a stronger safety culture at OSR.

NRCA Roofing Week | Training Day

At O'Hara's Son Roofing Company (OSR), we believe effective safety training starts on day one.

Under the leadership of Safety Director Santiago Leiton and Safety Coordinator Lydia Bryant, our onboarding process goes beyond reviewing policies and procedures. New team members learn through real project photos, videos, interactive discussions, and hands-on training designed to prepare them for the work ahead. Just as importantly, we use this time to build relationships between our field teams and safety professionals.
We believe the first training session is one of the most important opportunities to prevent incidents before they happen. By setting clear expectations, leading by example, and creating open lines of communication, we help build a culture where safety is everyone's responsibility.
To reinforce learning, we utilize safety quizzes, ongoing training, and digital tools through our Novara Flex platform that make reporting, communication, and feedback easy and accessible. These tools help keep safety top of mind while ensuring our teams remain connected and informed.

For Santiago, Lydia, and the entire safety team, training is not just about compliance. It is about staying engaged with our field crews, supporting them, and serving as a trusted source of guidance throughout their careers at OSR.

Safety training is not a one-time event. It is an ongoing commitment to our people and to building a culture of prevention that helps every team member go home safe at the end of the day.

NRCA Roofing Week | Employee Appreciation Day

At O'Hara's Son Roofing Company (OSR), our success starts with our people.
Today, we recognize and thank the team members who make OSR what it is. From our field crews and traveling superintendents to our office staff and support teams, every role plays an important part in delivering quality work, supporting our customers, and helping our company grow.
Commercial roofing takes dedication, teamwork, and a commitment to doing the job right. Day after day, our employees bring those values to every project, every customer interaction, and every challenge.
We also want to recognize the many former employees who helped shape OSR into the company it is today. Their contributions laid the foundation for the success we continue to build on.

To every member of the OSR team, past and present, thank you for your hard work, professionalism, and commitment to excellence.

NRCA Roofing Week | Charitable Projects Day

At O'Hara's Son Roofing Company (OSR), we believe in building stronger communities both on and off the roof.
This year, our team came together to support two organizations making a difference in the lives of others.

Back-to-School Supply Drive
OSR employees donated school supplies to help students served by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America start the school year with the tools they need to learn and succeed.

Feeding America Fundraiser
Thanks to the generosity of our employees, partners, and supporters, our fundraising efforts helped provide more than 5,000 meals to individuals and families facing food insecurity.
These efforts may not involve roofing, but they reflect the same values that guide our work every day: teamwork, service, and a commitment to helping others.

Thank you to everyone who donated, participated, and helped make these initiatives a success.

NRCA Roofing Week | Signature Project Day

Some projects stand out not only because of their size, but because of the teamwork, planning, and ex*****on required to bring them to completion.
One of OSR's signature projects was the reroof of the Skechers Distribution Center for Highland Fairview in Moreno Valley, California.

This massive project included:
• 1,860,000 square feet of reroofing
• 173 days from preconstruction to final inspection
• DensDeck® Roof Board from Georgia-Pacific Building Products
• 80-mil TPO membrane from Elevate US | Commercial Roofing Systems
• Elevate's Invisiweld attachment system

Throughout the project, the facility remained fully operational, requiring close coordination, detailed planning, and constant communication to minimize disruption to day-to-day activities.
The project also presented unique challenges. A large ballasted roof section required careful coordination to move and reuse existing stone without removing it from the roof. The scope also included the replacement of seven roof hatches, a reminder of the sheer scale of this facility.
Projects of this scale require detailed planning, strong communication, and a dedicated team committed to quality and safety from start to finish.

A special thank you to our O'Hara's Son Roofing Company (OSR) team members whose hard work, craftsmanship, and commitment made this project a success. We are also grateful to Highland Fairview, Elevate, and everyone involved in bringing this project to completion.

Welcome to the latest edition of O'Hara's Son Roofing Company (OSR) Road Warriors, showcasing the remarkable travel superintendents who are instrumental in OSR’s ongoing success. This week, we’re proud to spotlight Stanley Jasinski.

With over four decades in roofing, Stanley Jasinski brings a level of experience that is hard to match. Originally from Pennsylvania and New Jersey, he grew up in a mix of rural areas and small cities, with a clear preference for the outdoors that still holds true today. When he is not on the job, you can usually find him fishing from a kayak or bass boat, or out hunting.
Stanley got his start in roofing 44 years ago, with 37 of those years focused on commercial work. From the early days of hot asphalt installations to today’s complex systems, he has seen just about everything the industry has to offer.

What’s the most unexpected thing you’ve found on a roof?
I can’t even imagine all the things I’ve found over the years. Everything from broken down antique roofing equipment to a BMX bicycle.

If you had to motivate a team of tired and stressed workers, what would you do?
Motivating people is easy. Everyone wants to get the job done and go home. Show them the light at the end of the tunnel and they will perform.

What’s your approach to ensuring safety standards are met on every project you oversee?
There is no compromise when it comes to safety. It’s a personal goal of mine to make sure everyone goes home at the end of the day the same way they arrived.

What’s the most memorable roofing site you’ve worked on and why?
I’ve had a lot of memorable jobs. One was a warehouse fitness and training center with tapered insulation that felt like a giant jigsaw puzzle, overlooking an abandoned slate quarry.

If commercial roofing sites had theme songs, what would be playing on yours?
Maybe “Maximum Overdrive” because it has always been about getting the job done

Happy National Limerick Day!

There once was a roof, flat and wide,
Where a leak found a sneaky place to hide.
Through rain and through hail,
It would drip, without fail,
Till OSR’s post the owner had spied!

Even small leaks can turn into bigger problems if they go unchecked.
If you’ve got a sneaky leak on your commercial flat roof, let the experts take a look.
