A meaningful milestone for a project rooted in purpose.

We were proud to join The Salvation Army Center for Social Justice and City Mission in the ribbon cutting of their new space.

This moment marks the completion of a space designed to support critical conversations, provide resources, and serve individuals and families across the community.

From early planning through construction, this project was guided by collaboration and a shared commitment to creating an environment that reflects the organization’s mission. Every detail was approached with intention to support dignity, trust, and meaningful engagement.

It has been an honor to be part of this initiative. We look forward to seeing the impact this center will have for years to come.

Final reveal of a Chicago office project recently completed by Interior Construction Group, Inc. for Mutares, a global private equity firm focused on acquiring and developing companies in transition.

The space is defined by abundant natural light, light wood flooring, and full-height glass conference rooms that support transparency and focus.

An angled glass alcove responds directly to the building’s existing structure, turning a complex condition into a defining architectural feature that brings light deep into the space and frames views overlooking Maggie Daley Park.

A modern kitchen hub anchors the office and encourages connection throughout the day, while exposed ceilings and crisp architectural lines reinforce a contemporary, European-influenced aesthetic.

Designed by geniant / Eastlake Studio and project managed by Riverside Investment & Development, the office reflects Mutares’ disciplined, forward-looking approach and creates a refined workplace in the heart of Chicago.

Behind every mechanical system is a team of skilled trades professionals who make it work.

At The Salvation Army USA Cox Hall project, Marv and Jesse are installing the pumps for the building’s chillers and boilers, supporting critical systems that will serve the space for years to come.

Both are members of Pipefitters Local 597, working under our partner Admiral Heating & Ventilating. Their expertise and coordination play a key role in delivering this complex system.

Marv brings decades of field experience. Jesse represents the next generation of skilled trades professionals. Together, they are laying the piping that keeps this project moving forward with precision and care.

We value the craftsmanship and mentorship that strengthen every jobsite and every partnership.

Ocean Network Express Pte. Ltd., a global leader in container shipping, recently completed its Naperville office relocation, delivering a vibrant workplace designed to support collaboration, efficiency, and a strong brand presence.

A defining element of the space is its bold color story. ONE’s signature magenta branding is expressed throughout the office through coordinated finishes, architectural features, and material selections. Achieving this vision required close collaboration across trades and thoughtful sourcing to ensure color accuracy, durability, and consistency from concept through installation.

Once you know the brand, it’s hard to miss. Don’t be surprised if you start noticing their containers everywhere, on trains, in yards, and moving through the city.

The 40,000 SF project included a full interior rebuild with expanded collaboration areas, increased restroom capacity, integrated branded elements, and detailed finish coordination throughout. With a lease driven deadline, the team worked through a compressed schedule to reach the target occupancy date while maintaining safety, quality, and design integrity.

Interior Construction Group, Inc. partnered with Turner & Townsend as project manager and Partners by Design on the delivery of a workplace that reflects ONE’s identity and supports how their team works today.

After more than 50 years in the same location, Golub & Company relocated to a newly built headquarters in Chicago, marking a significant transition.

The move created an opportunity to rethink the workplace and align the environment with how their team operates today and where they are headed next.

“This move represents the next chapter for our team. We wanted a space that reflects who we are today while supporting how we work and grow. The collaboration with Architectural Group and Interior Construction Group was critical in bringing that vision to life.”
— Lee Golub

We were honored to partner on this milestone project.

Since work began last fall, renovation at The Salvation Army USA - Cox Hall has continued to move from planning into visible transformation.

Major infrastructure upgrades are now complete, including HVAC, plumbing, roof framing, and new window installation. With these systems in place, the focus has shifted to shaping the interior spaces that will support cadets and their families during officer training.

Drywall installation is underway, defining living areas throughout the building.

Next, ceramic tile will begin in the fourth-floor bathrooms, followed by flooring installation as the project advances.

With major systems complete and interior buildout in progress, the renovation has entered its next phase.

We will share more soon about the program this space is designed to support.

We’ve been building commercial office space in Chicago for decades, and one thing is clear: relying on outdated industry habits limits performance.

Today’s projects demand more. Technical complexity, tight coordination, evolving building systems, and accelerated schedules require sharp thinking and a proactive approach. Expanding opportunities for women across project management, field operations, and leadership is not about checking a box. It is essential to meeting client expectations and delivering successful outcomes.

Our industry needs professionals who anticipate challenges early, bring fresh perspective, and lead teams to collaborate effectively. Women in construction demonstrate these strengths every day, driving value in preconstruction, precision in the field, and leadership across organizations.

Diverse teams produce stronger results and higher-quality work. Construction is better because of the women contributing to it, and our commitment to their growth and leadership extends well beyond Women in Construction Week and into the decades ahead.

Interior Construction Group, Inc. was proud to support this year’s Aeron Chair Hockey Tournament alongside Continua Interiors in support of Special Olympics Illinois.

This event brings our industry together for a fast-paced chair hockey competition that directly benefits Special Olympics athletes across Illinois. What makes it meaningful is the mission behind it. The funds raised help provide year-round training, competition, and opportunities that empower athletes both on and off the court.

This year’s tournament reached an incredible milestone, raising $100,000 for Special Olympics Illinois. We were honored to participate and contribute to an event that continues to create real impact in our community.

We are grateful to stand with partners who show up with purpose. When we rally around a shared cause, the results extend far beyond the game.

Office Tenant Improvement (TI) schedules are influenced by more than internal deadlines. In reality, they are shaped by a range of external factors that often sit outside a client’s immediate view.

Landlord reviews are often the first factor. Each building has its own approval process and turnaround times, and even minor comments can pause progress. Permits introduce review cycles that operate independently, with approvals that often cannot be accelerated.

Materials procurement plays a critical role. Lead times shift, substitutions may become necessary, and freight timing varies.
Once demolition begins, previously unknown conditions can surface, from undocumented concealed MEP systems to structural conflicts that are only discovered when walls come down.

These moments are normal in TI work. This is where experienced preconstruction planning makes the difference.

Building flexibility into early schedules, identifying high-risk approvals at the outset, and confirming long-lead materials before locking in milestone dates creates stability. When expectations align with how office construction works, schedule adjustments become part of a controlled plan rather than a disruption.

Understanding the realities of TI work is what turns uncertainty into strategy.
