Service Call Explained
A customer reached out because their garage door would not open. Upon arrival, we discovered a broken torsion spring. We explained the life cycle of garage door springs, why they fail over time, and the proper replacement process.
During our inspection, we also found an improperly installed operator attachment. The original installer used a piece of angle iron instead of a proper garage door reinforcement bracket.
Why is this important?
A reinforcement bracket helps distribute the force from the garage door opener across the top section of the door. Without proper reinforcement, the top panel can bend, crack, or fail over time, leading to costly repairs or even premature door replacement.
At LJM Garage Door Service, every service call includes a complete inspection so we can identify potential issues before they become bigger problems.
