Emergency evening service call 🚨

LJM Garage Door Service received a call for a door stuck halfway open—with vehicles trapped inside. After discussing the situation and understanding the customer’s concerns, we headed out right away.

Upon arrival, we found the cables tangled and the door jammed in place. After a full inspection, the root of the problem became clear—one broken spring along with a DIY torsion spring setup that wasn’t properly sized or installed.

Improper spring systems can cause serious issues, from uneven lifting to added stress on your entire door system. In this case, it led to the cable failure and left the door stuck mid-cycle.

We replaced the entire torsion spring system with properly matched, professional-grade components, reset the cables, and completed a full system check to ensure safe and smooth operation.

Now this door is back to running like it should—smooth, balanced, and dependable.

Over time, that bottom seal dries out and deteriorates from the constant weather swings we deal with here in the Midwest. Cold, heat, moisture—it all takes a toll.

This wonderful customer reached out after getting tired of seeing that gap, the daylight coming through, and the possibility of critters making their way inside.
