Do you wonder how weeds spread? Often there is a network of runners under the soil with new plants along the way.

Smart alternatives

Not every “eco-friendly” plant is actually the best choice for local wildlife 🌿 I’ve learned to look beyond pretty flowers and ask what the plant really does for the garden.
🌸 Some plants feed adult pollinators but do not support caterpillars or birds very well.
🐦 Native shrubs often provide food, shelter, and better long-term habitat.
🌳 Serviceberry is a beautiful swap if you still want spring blooms.
🍒 Winterberry adds winter interest and feeds birds.
🌼 Buttonbush is great for pollinators and wetter spots.
The goal isn’t a perfect garden. It’s just making better plant choices one bed at a time 😊
